Rules & Scoring

Valorant Classic

In salary cap contests, participants will create a lineup by selecting players listed in the Player Pool. Each player listed has an assigned salary and a valid lineup must not exceed the salary cap of $50,000.

Contest results will be determined by the total points accumulated by each individual lineup entry (scoring rules summarized below).

Participation in each contest must be made only as specified in the Terms of Use. Failure to comply with these Terms of Use will result in disqualification and, if applicable, prize forfeiture.

Scoring

The player you draft as your captain will earn 1.5x the standard fantasy point value for each statistic.

Scoring Notes

  • A Clutch 1vX is defined as winning the round while being the last surviving member of the team, where the X stands for the number of enemies alive at the time the last team-mate died.
  • A Triple Kill is awarded for 3 kills in a single round, a Quad Kill for 4 kills in a single round, and an Ace for 5 kills a single round. A player is eligible for only 1 of these bonuses in any given round (Quad Kill replaces Triple Kill and Ace replaces Quad Kill).
  • For the purposes of DFS scoring "a round" is defined as the time between two buy periods. In-game events that take place after round clock expired, but before next rounds buy-period are considered to be part of the previous round.
  • Rounds Not Played Bonus + 0.5 Pts – For each round not played, any active player will be awarded 0.5 points, regardless of if they win or lose.
    • Each played map will have between zero and 11 rounds not played.
    • An unplayed map will result in 24 rounds not played.
    • Overtime rounds will not negatively affect Rounds not Played.
  • Example 1: Player on a team loses their match 10-13, 13-4, 7-13

-They will receive (1+7+4) = 12 Rounds Not Played = 6 Rounds Not Played points

Example 2: Player in a match that ends 13-7, 13-9

-They will receive (4+2+24) = 30 Rounds Not Played = 15 Rounds Not Played points

    Example 3: Player in a match that ends 13-10, 8-13, 14-12

-They will receive (1+3+0) = 4 Rounds Not Played = 2 Rounds Not Played points

  • Players must earn stats in at least one of the maps in the series in order to be eligible for the RNP bonus.
  • Match Sweep Bonus + 5 Pts – Any player on a team that wins a match without a loss in a best of series. For example, if a player is on a team that wins a best of 3 series 2-0

Lineup Requirements

Lineups will consist of 6 Players with a maximum of 3 from any one team. A valid lineup must span at least 2 different Valorant games with a maximum of 3 players from the same team.

The 6 roster positions are:

1

Captain

5

Flex

The players you select as your Captain will score 1.5x the standard fantasy point value for each statistic, but drafting a player as Captain will cost more salary than drafting them at any other position.

Any player in the player pool is eligible to be selected as Captain. However, a player cannot be added at both Captain and another position in the same lineup.

Player Pool

The Player Pool will consist of all Valorant players expected to be on the roster for any team scheduled to play in the contest Game Set. Occasionally a player may be missing from the Player Pool due to injury or other unforeseen circumstances.

In most circumstances, once the Player Pool is established for a Game Set, including positions and salaries, the Player Pool will not be adjusted. In the rare event that there is a mistake within the Player Pool that would significantly impact game quality, DraftKings reserves the right to correct the mistake after contests for that Game Set have become available. This may result in valid lineups becoming invalid. This would most likely occur shortly after the Player Pool becomes available, far in advance of the contest start time, and participants who have entered contests for the Game Set prior to the adjustment will be notified via email.

A "Game Set" is a set of games used for contests; each contest is tied to one Game Set. Contests tied to the same Game Set can be created at different times. Therefore, game policies are based on the timing of a Game Set being made available, not each individual contest.

Player Alias Change

In rare circumstances where Valorant player(s) change their in-game alias (display name) after salaries have been posted, they will accrue fantasy points so long as the player behind the alias is the same.

Team Name Change

In rare circumstances where Valorant team(s) change their name after salaries have been posted, they will accrue fantasy points so long as the underlying players behind the alias is the same.

Position Eligibility

Player positions are determined at the sole discretion of DraftKings.

Lineup Edits

Lineups may be edited at any time leading up to the start of a Game Set. Each player will become "locked" at the scheduled start time of the Game Set. A locked player cannot be added or removed from a roster spot.

In the rare case that a game starts before the scheduled Game Set start time, all players within that game will become locked as soon as our feed reflects that the game has begun. Additionally, any lineup swaps including players from the game that were made after the real-life start time of the game will result in those lineups being disqualified and refunded.

Teams Playing Best of Series

DraftKings may offer contests where teams play in a ‘best-of’ series against another team. Fantasy points earned by players and teams in these ‘best-of’ matchups will be aggregated. If a game within a best of series is postponed or rescheduled, please see Cancelled, Postponed, and Rescheduled Games section below.

Cancelled, Postponed, and Rescheduled Games

The Scoring Period for Valorant is defined as the timeframe between the scheduled start of the first game within the Game Set and 11:59pm ET on the date following the original start time of the last scheduled game within the Game Set.

In the event that a scheduled game within a best-of series is cancelled, postponed, or rescheduled and is not rescheduled to start within the Scoring Period, only points generated from completed maps within the series will be counted and no sweep bonus points for winning the series early will be awarded.

In the event that a match (all games in a best-of series or a non-best of single game match) is cancelled, postponed, or rescheduled and is not rescheduled to start within the Scoring Period, the match will be disabled from the game set and players/teams listed to play in that match will not be eligible to accrue points.

For the purposes of these rules/determinations, a match or game in a best-of series is known to be rescheduled once their status is updated as such by DraftKings. If DraftKings does not know of a reschedule by 11:59 PM ET of the day of the postponement, then the game will not be included in the Scoring period.

In the event a game is postponed, Draftkings will make a decision no later than 11:59PM ET of the day of the game on how to handle the postponed game.

Any games that are disabled will be indicated as such on Draft Screens. Emails and other notifications may also be used to notify users of disabled games.

If canceled or games rescheduled for a later date result in a Game Set including only one active match, then all contests for that Game Set will be canceled and refunded.

Games are "known" to be canceled or postponed once their status is updated as such by Draftkings’ Valorant stats-provider.

If canceled or rescheduled games result in a Game Set including zero active games, all contests for that Game Set will be canceled and refunded.

Suspended or Replayed Games

DraftKings manually scores contests and validates statistics against the stream of the game and vlr.gg. If a game is "suspended" but resumed within the Scoring Period, all stats from said game will be counted. If the game is started outside the Scoring Period, then the statistics generated before the game is suspended will count in Draft Groups containing said game. Any statistics generated on a later date when the game resumes will not be included.

In the rare event that a scheduled game starts but must be replayed from the beginning due to technical failure or any other reason, no points will be awarded for the original game. Points will only be awarded for the restarted game, provided the restarted game is replayed within 24 hours of the originally scheduled start time.
