Rules & Scoring

Single Match Tennis

In salary cap contests, participants will create a lineup by selecting players listed in the Player Pool. Each player will earn fantasy points for their performance in the single match listed. Each player listed has an assigned salary and a valid lineup must not exceed the salary cap of $50,000.

Contest results will be determined by the total points accumulated by each individual lineup entry (scoring rules summarized below).

Participation in each contest must be made only as specified in the Terms of Use. Failure to comply with these Terms of Use will result in disqualification and, if applicable, prize forfeiture.

Scoring Notes

  • Scoring values for statistics are different depending on whether the match is played as a best of 3 sets or best of 5 sets.
  • The Straight Sets bonus and No Double Fault bonus are only awarded if the match is played to completion. It is not awarded in the event the match ends by retirement or disqualification.
  • The Clean Set bonus is awarded if the set is played to completion. It is not awarded in the event a player retires or is disqualified in the middle of the set.

Retirements & Disqualifications

A retirement is when a player withdraws from a match after it has started.

In the event of a retirement, both players will be awarded fantasy points for all statistics accrued up until the point of the retirement. The player who did not retire will receive a Win by Retirement statistic for the set in which the retirement occurred.

The Win by Retirement Bonus reflects the combined total for the Match Won and Win by Retirement stats. For example, a player in a Best of 3 match who wins by retirement in the first set will receive stats for Match Won (+6 Pts) and Win by Retirement (Set 1) (+14 Pts), for a total of 20 fantasy points.

For retirement between sets, the most recently completed set is considered.

Disqualifications that happen after a match has started will be treated the same as retirements.

Walkovers

A walkover is when a player advances to the next round of the tournament because his/her opponent withdraws before the match has started.

In the event of a walkover, the advancing player will receive an Advanced By Walkover statistic for the match. The player who withdrew will not receive any fantasy points.

Replacement Opponents

In the event a player’s opponent withdraws before the match and a replacement opponent is announced, the original player who did not withdraw will receive all fantasy points accrued in the match. The player who withdrew will not receive any fantasy points.

Lineup Requirements

Lineups will consist of 6 players.

Player Pool

The Player Pool will consist of all players scheduled to play in a selection of matches determined by DraftKings (Men's Singles, Women's Singles, or a combination). Occasionally a player may be missing from the Player Pool due to withdrawals or unforeseen circumstances.

In most circumstances, the Player Pool will be posted the day before the matches, and once the Player Pool is established for a Game Set, it will not be adjusted. In the rare event that there is a mistake within the Player Pool that would significantly impact game quality, DraftKings reserves the right to correct the mistake after contests for that Game Set have become available. This may result in valid lineups becoming invalid. This would most likely occur shortly after the Player Pool becomes available, far in advance of the contest start time, and participants who have entered contests for the Game Set prior to the adjustment will be notified via email.

Lineup Edits

Lineups may be edited at any time leading up to the start of the Game Set. All players will become "locked" at the scheduled start time of the Game Set. A locked player cannot be added or removed from a roster spot. Locked roster spots for all entries are displayed in contest GameCenters.

Tennis contest start times are subject to change based on the time of the first match in the contest. In the rare case that a match starts before the scheduled contest start time, all players will become locked as soon as our feed reflects that the match has begun. Additionally, any swaps that were made after the real-life start time of the match will result in those lineups being disqualified and refunded.

Match Postponements

In the event that a match is postponed due to weather, darkness, or some other reason, DraftKings will wait until the match is completed before finalizing contests. This may result in contests not being finalized until the following day, after the next day’s contests have started.
