Here’s what stands out on Tuesday’s eight-game slate:

Defense vs. Position

Point Guard Matchups

BEST

Charlotte Hornets vs. Los Angeles Clippers, 27th
Minnesota Timberwolves at Memphis Grizzlies, 21st
New York Knicks vs. Detroit Pistons, 20th

The Timberwolves are as thin as it gets at PG, down three bodies for the majority of their recent games. That looks like it’ll be the case again, meaning Jerryd Bayless ($5,400) should continue to eat up minutes at PG. Bayless has scored 30-plus DKFP in six straight games, and played at least 35 minutes in four straight — averaging 38 DKFP during that span. There’s too much volume here to pass up on.

WORST

Los Angeles Lakers at Indiana Pacers, 1st
Toronto Raptors at Philadelphia 76ers, 2nd
Portland Trail Blazers vs. Miami Heat, 3rd

With Kyle Lowry ($7,000) unexpectedly returning from a back issue, the value on Toronto is taken off the board. This spot is now a fade.

Shooting Guard Matchups

BEST

Indiana Pacers vs. Los Angeles Lakers, 29th
Detroit Pistons at New York Knicks, 28th
Portland Trail Blazers vs. Miami Heat, 26th

Cory Joseph ($4,400) continues to see his minutes rise with Victor Oladipo (knee) out of commission. He’s been reaching value despite an absolutely horrific streak from the field — 6-of-29 from the field in his last four games. Once his shot starts going down, he’s in for a breakout game.

WORST

Toronto Raptors at Philadelphia 76ers, 8th
Los Angeles Clippers at Charlotte Hornets, 10th
Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Boston Celtics, 11th

The Cavs are another great spot to take advantage of a recent roster move. Rodney Hood ($3,500) is now a member of the Trail Blazers, and while it’s unclear if he’ll make his team debut on Tuesday, he’s not the play we’re interested in. Jordan Clarkson ($5,200) and Alec Burkes ($5,100) are the guards that should pick up the extra run, as Hood saw at least 30 minutes in each of his last four games with Cleveland. An extra 8-12 minutes a piece for Clarkson and Burkes could be enormous for their value.

Small Forward Matchups

BEST

Memphis Grizzlies vs. Minnesota Timberwolves, 29th
Indiana Pacers vs. Los Angeles Lakers, 27th
Charlotte Hornets vs. Los Angeles Clippers, 26th

If you want a play within these top matchups, Marvin Williams ($4,900) has been solid recently, and exceeded value against the Clippers earlier in the season. I think there’s better value on the board, but Williams is at least in consideration.

WORST

Los Angeles Lakers at Indiana Pacers, 1st
New York Knicks vs. Detroit Pistons, 2nd
Minnesota Timberwolves at Memphis Grizzlies, 4th

Brandon Ingram ($5,900), Kevin Knox ($5,300) and Andrew Wiggins ($6,000) are all in decent spots here considering their salaries. With no plays jumping out in good matchups, I think any of these guys could make for a high-upside GPP play.

Power Forward Matchups

BEST

Detroit Pistons at New York Knicks, 30th
Portland Trail Blazers vs. Miami Heat, 24th
Orlando Magic at Oklahoma City Thunder, 23rd

Blake Griffin ($8,800) is worth paying up for on this slate, particularly since he checks into this matchup at an affordable salary. Griffin saw just 23 minutes in Monday’s blowout over Denver, so he should be fresh for a significantly better opportunity to go for a big game. Aaron Gordon ($6,200) is a cheaper alternative that already dropped a 40-DKFP game on OKC earlier in the season.

WORST

Indiana Pacers vs. Los Angeles Lakers, 3rd
Minnesota Timberwolves at Memphis Grizzlies, 5th
Miami Heat at Portland Trail Blazers, 8th

Kelly Olynyk ($3,900) is an interesting consideration. Recently out of the rotation, Olynyk’s jumped back into the mix, playing 65 total minutes in his last two games. He’s averaging over 34 DKFP in those games, so despite the matchup, there should be enough minutes here for Olynyk to exceed value.

Center Matchups

BEST

Charlotte Hornets vs. Los Angeles Clippers, 28th
Indiana Pacers vs. Los Angeles Lakers, 27th
New York Knicks vs. Detroit Pistons, 22nd

Myles Turner ($6,500) has averaged over 35 DKFP in his last three games, also seeing an uptick in minutes. The Lakers have been horrible defending centers this season, and have been trending in the wrong direction. Turner’s a nice mid-tier play on this slate.

WORST

Boston Celtics at Cleveland Cavaliers, 1st
Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Orlando Magic, 3rd
Portland Trail Blazers vs. Miami Heat, 4th

With Aron Baynes (foot) out until at least the All-Star break, Daniel Theis ($3,500) has jumped into a more consistent role in the rotation. Even in a poor matchup, Theis shouldn’t have a problem reaching value, especially if the game turns into a blowout.

Lineup Quick Hits

Superstar Worth Paying For

Russell Westbrook ($11,400) — Westbrook’s historically dominated Orlando, going for 66 DKFP against them earlier this season. He averaged just a shade under 80 DKFP against Orlando the last three seasons, so this is just a spot that he thrives. Racking up six consecutive triple-doubles, Westbrook should be able to keep his foot on the gas in this spot.

Save The Big Bucks By Drafting …

Jerryd Bayless ($5,400) —I touched on Bayless earlier in the article, but he sets up as my favorite value play on this slate. Obviously, he won’t be the top overall scorer, but his minutes and role combined make him as safe as it gets. There simply isn’t another PG to take minutes from him.

Next Man Up

Jaylen Brown ($4,900) — Brown has been tremendous when Kyrie Irving (hip) is off the floor. On top of Kyrie missing this one, Marcus Morris’ (knee) absence should clear even more minutes for Brown against a terrible Cleveland squad. Brown’s scored at least 33 DKFP in three straight games that Irving’s missed, including 43 DKFP last week against Charlotte.
