This article will identify the best line-stacking combos to use for fantasy hockey purposes every night. Considering that at least one player on a forward line will often get an assist on a goal when his line mate scores, stacking players from the same line can prove very fruitful for fantasy purposes. Use these targets to help identify some of your best options ever night.
High Priced First lines
Alex Ovechkin ($9100) – T.J. Oshie ($5400) – Evgeny Kuznetsov ($5100)
Even though the Capitals have Nicklas Backstrom back they haven’t moved him up to the top line as of yet. That means that Evegny Kuznetsov should remain attached to Ovechkin and Oshie for at least one more game. This is a very affordable trio even with Ovechkin’s high salary and makes rostering them pretty attractive on Tuesday. All three of these players have started the season well and will get a Calgary Flames team who’s been letting in a ton of goals to start the season. Another big night for this group seems on tap and they’d definitely be a target for me in the Monday-Tuesday fantasy games on DK.
Others: The Stars have moved Patrick Sharp up to their first line with Seguin/Benn making the trio a great target too, they’re my other favorite top line tonight.
Matt Nieto ($3600) – Chris Tierney ($2600) – Tommy Wingels ($4100)
This is technically the third line for the Sharks but with Logan Couture out they have been seeing more offensive ice time. Chris Tierney has also been putting time in on the power play and this entire trio carries at least a little bit of offensive upside. They’re extremely cheap and if you’re looking for a Monday value trio they would be my bet. Not a slam dunk for points by any means but the fact they will be facing a backup tonight for the Rangers and not Henrik Lundqvist gives them a boost as well.
Others: The second line of Rieder/Hanzel and Duclair have been playing well for the Coyotes and have a great matchup.
Claude Giroux ($6700) – Jakub Voracek ($6400) – Michael Raffl ($3900)
While many people might be targeting the Dallas Stars top line in Tuesday’s game between the Stars and Flyers a great contrarian play for tournaments will be to target the Flyers top scoring line of Giroux-Voracek and Raffl. The Stars are still a pretty leaky team defensively and always seem to find themselves in a lot of higher scoring games. The Flyers top line might not be as intimidating offensively as the Stars but they’re close and they’re also a lot cheaper. This game should have the highest game total for Tuesday, and this line will be a great and likely very under owned target for your lineups.
