This article will identify the best line-stacking combos to use for fantasy hockey purposes every night. Considering that at least one player on a forward line will often get an assist on a goal when his line mate scores, stacking players from the same line can prove very fruitful for fantasy purposes. Use these targets to help identify some of your best options ever night.
High Priced First lines
Paul Stastny ($5100) – Vladimir Tarasenko ($7700) – Alex Steen ($6300) or Magnus Paarjarvi ($2800)
The St. Louis Blues take on the league leading Dallas Stars tonight in what I expect will be somewhat of a back and forth battle between two skilled teams. While I certainly wouldn’t put anyone off from using the Dallas first line (they’re a nightly consideration) I also like the targeting the Blues top players tonight as well. While Alex Steen and Tarasenko aren’t playing together at even strength every shift the duo will still see plenty of action together on the PP and late on the game if the Blues are trailing. Paul Stastny remains Tarasenko’s centre and while he’s not a prolific goal scorer, as the number one centre for the Blues, he carries multi point potential every night. If you need a real value play you could consider Magnus Paarjarvi also who is only $2800 and will skate with Tarasenko at even strength. I would use caution though as Paarjarvi has never been consistent offensively in the NHL.

Eric Staal ($5200) – Elias Lindholm ($3700) – Kris Versteeg ($3800)
The Hurricanes have certainly been scoring a little more of late and this line has been a main reason why. With 9 points in their last 3 games all three of these men have been productive for fantasy recently and all three will see a lot of ice time together against an ARZ team who has really struggled to keep the puck out of their own net. Both Staal and Lindholm typically see time on the PP together but Versteeg often will get time with the second unit as well. I think Lindholm might be the best value of the bunch as he’s also averaged right around 4 SOG in his 6 games and has been more aggressive offensively of late. I like all three of these players tonight either as a stack or on their own as the matchup and the Hurricanes recent goal splurge (4 or more goals in last 3 games) bodes well for their success tonight.
Jeff Carter ($6600) – Tyler Toffoli ($5800) – Milan Lucic ($4700)
This line has gone through a bit of a dry spell recently but tonight might be the perfect night for a breakout. The Buffalo Sabres have improved all around this year but they’re on a massive skid right now losing 4 of their last 5 games while allowing 4 or more goals in every game in that span. While Tyler Toffoli has been held without a point in his last 6 games he’s still taking regular shifts beside Carter and Lucic and all three will see plenty of ice time together at even strength. It’s also likely Carter and Lucic will be together on the PP which bodes well for their production and makes them the best duo to target if you’re only looking to use two of these players together. Either way, the matchup tonight is too good to be true and I’d definitely recommend using part or all of this Kings line.
