Top Lines of the Night

Tampa Bay Lightning @ Detroit

Steven Stamkos ($8,100) – Nikita Kucherov ($7,000) – Vladislav Namestnikov ($4,300)

This line just continues to be impressive, especially the duo of Stamkos and Kucherov. Stammer is now up to 19 points on the season, with 10 in his last eight games. Kucherov has him beat with 11 points in his last seven games. Both are coming off a multi-point game against the Islanders last night. Namestnikov is beginning to settle in on this line and has points in two of his last three outings. As long as he stays on this line he will have fantasy relevance. They face Petr Mrazek in Detroit tonight who is allowing over three goals per game at home this season.

Dallas Stars vs New Jersey

Tyler Seguin ($7,600) – Patrick Eaves ($5,100) – Antoine Roussel ($3,600)

Seguin sits tied for the league-lead in points, is second in assists, and is riding a five-game point streak. Eaves and Roussel will have great value playing on this line, and they are proving it. Eaves has eight points in his last seven games, with three multi-point games in his last four outings. Roussel has never scored more than 29 points in a season and already has 11 points in 16 games. He has his own point streak going, finding the scoresheet in six straight games. Not only is this one of the top scoring lines in the league right now, they are not going to break your bank to put them in play.

Superstar to Build Around

Connor McDavid ($8,000) – McDavid is beginning to rack up the assists and now leads the league with 14 in that category. He sits second in the league in points with 19 on the season. Despite not having scored a goal in his last eight games, he is producing as much as anyone could ask right now. He needs to pick up his shooting numbers, averaging only 2.5 SOG this season, but as long as he keeps putting up the numbers he will always be one of the top skaters on a nightly basis. With as inconsistent as Anaheim has been this season, it’s a great matchup for him tonight.

Value on Offense

Marko Dano ($3,000) – Dano got bumped up to the Jets top line with Mark Scheifele and Patrik Laine against the Kings and promptly netted his third goal of the season. Dano was a top prospect for the Blackhawks and could get a solid look with the Jets in their top-six rotation.

Sebastian Aho ($4,000) – Aho was expected to be one of the top rookie scorers in the league and he is beginning to come on strong. He has nine points for the Hurricanes this season, with four coming in his last two games. He’s coming off his best game of the year with two goals and an assist against the Capitals and is skating on a very underrated line with Jordan Staal and Teuvo Teravainen.

Stud Goalies

Carey Price ($8,300) – Not much else can be said about why I play Price almost every night. He just set the Habs franchise record for wins to start a season by winning his 10th game in a row in his last start. I’m rolling him no matter the matchup right now.

Martin Jones ($8,100) – Jones has bounced back strong after he posted three outings allowing three goals in each. He has now won three games in a row, has allowed only three goals against total in those games, and has shut down three top offenses in the process against Tampa, Washington and Florida. He has lowered his GAA to 2.20 and his SV% is on the rise, up to .913 right now. He has a great matchup tonight against the Hurricanes.

Value on Defense

Toby Enstrom ($3,400) – With Tyler Myers sidelined again with an injury, Enstrom will see an expanded role. He is already on the Jets second pair with Jacob Trouba and he ran the point on the second power play (PP) unit against the Kings and put up two assists.

Matt Niskanen ($4,200) – With John Carlson having an inconsistent year, Niskanen leads the Caps blueliners in points with seven. He is manning their top pairing at even strength and is helping to run the point on the Caps second PP unit. He has an assist in back-to-back games.

Power Play Defensemen

Kevin Shattenkirk ($5,300) – I have written about Shattenkirk a few times this season and he continues to put up numbers on the man advantage. He leads all defensemen in the league with eight power play points (PPP) and has a solid 12 points in 16 games overall. He is coming off a multi-point game against Columbus over the weekend with both his goal and assist coming on the PP.

Andrei Markov ($4,100) – Markov continues to produce lately, riding a five-game point streak that has been bookended by multi-point games. He has three PP assists in his last four games. On top of his PP production, I think he is also a great value pick tonight.
