In an unprecedented ending to America’s most famous race, Denny Hamlin edged out Martin Truex Jr. to the finish line by one hundredth of a second during the final lap of Sunday’s Daytona 500 — the tightest 1st Place/2nd Place finish differential in race history.
Love how Denny practically drove his fellow JGR Racing Compadre Matt Kenseth into the wall in the final turn too — it’s the Daytona 500, there aint no such thing as teammates.

Also, pretty cool stuff here: Denny’s elementary school declaration that he was one day going to win the Daytona 500 — has come full circle.
