That is not a typo — THERE IS A STARBURY MUSEUM ON PLANET EARTH.
He’s got his own postage stamp in China…
He’s got his own bronze statue in Beijing…
And now … HIS OWN MUSEUM
PEACE STAR (@StarburyMarbury) December 21, 2015From rags to riches, Marbury left the NBA for China in 2010 after a stint with the New York Knicks/not being able to make a fifteen man roster where — and in the 5+ years he’s been living in the most populated country of the Far East, he has since been immortalized as one of the continent’s biggest stars. Stephon led the Beijing Ducks to three of the past four Chinese Basketball Association championships, including last season when he was named finals MVP and averaged
- 29.7 points
- 4.8 rebounds
- 5.7 assists
- 2 steals
“My Beijing jersey means more to me than any of them. I don’t [say] that because of the championship, but just because I’m here at home and I’ve had a support system,” Marbury said, via china.org.cn. “All those places that I’ve played at is a preparation for me to come to Beijing. For me, my Beijing jersey will be the jersey that I will retire here in China.”
You’re not going to believe this, but, I have a question: what the hell is going to be in this museum other than his MVP and Championship trophies? Montages of him pulling up from 35-feet and launching contested threes in Madison Square Garden for a decade? The keys to his foreclosed NYC condos?
Who cares: this Museum is a natural wonder of the world and I won’t hear any other arguments at this time.
