Monday’s usually mean a decent sized NBA slate. There are 10 games tonight and a lot of value on the table. Remember when playing tournaments it is all about a player’s upside. There are plenty of options to choose from tonight, so let’s jump right into some of tonight’s tournament plays.

Damian Lillard ($8,800) – Lillard gets a great matchup tonight against the Pelicans. The Pelicans are ranked 29th against opposing PGs. Lillard has been the main source of scoring for the Trailblazers who are lacking a true superstar. Due to his role his has the ability to exceed value and produce upside tonight. During his last game against the Pelicans he put up 43 DK points. In a similar matchup against the Lakers he put up 60 DK points. If the Trailblazers want to hang in the game it will come down to Lillard scoring a lot of points.
Jarrett Jack ($6,300) – Jack has been hit or miss all year, which makes him a great tournament play. During his last game Jack posted 37.5 DK points. He gets a great matchup tonight against the Magic and will look to school the sophomore, Elfrid Payton. I like his usage and the matchup tonight.
Jameer Nelson ($4,200) – I know, you are thinking maybe 10 years ago I would use Jameer Nelson in a GPP. However tonight is the perfect night. Nelson will get the start with Emmanuel Mudiay out. Nelson went off Friday, putting up 38.70 DK points. Based on price and minutes Jameer is a great play tonight.
Anthony Davis ($10,600) – I always look at AD like this, the nights I need to have him I don’t and the nights he gets injured I do. Hopefully tonight is a non-injury night. The Brow has the ability to post 70 DK points on any given night. He gets a great matchup tonight in a fast paced game. I feel like the Brow can definitely exceed value tonight.
Kenneth Faried ($5,900) – The Manimal for only $5,900, sign me up. The Rockets have struggled against PFs all year long. Since Faried has returned from injury he has been playing over 35 minutes a game. Tonight he has a great price, matchup, and usage rate; all reasons why he is a great GPP play tonight.
Matt Barnes ($4,300) – During their last game the Griz decided to sit Zach Randolph and start Matt Barnes. Surprisingly, Barnes made this decision look brilliant. Barnes should draw the start again and has hit value in 3 of his last 4 games. He will look to build on his 37.60 DK point performance tonight.
Andre Drummond ($9,300) – Drumroll please! Drummond is high priced, but he can also drop a 50 burger. The Clippers have been terrible against opposing Cs and Drummond has been one of the best on the year. I have him projected at 45+ fantasy points. I know his last outing wasn’t fabulous, but he should see a lot more usage tonight.
Al Horford ($6,500) – Horford has had a weird season and has started relatively slow. Tonight he matches up against the “Caged Lion” Hassan Whiteside. If the Hawks want to stay in this game, a lot of work will have to be done in the post. With tournament plays, you have to find players that others will be off of, and based on Horford’s price/usage he makes for a great filler.
Alexis Ajinca ($3,400) – Ajinca should draw the start for the Pelicans again tonight. During his last 3 games he hit value and will get an even better matchup tonight. With the probability of playing 23-25 minutes he has a great chance to exceed value tonight.
