Happy Sunday Funday Gamers! The Association is rolling out a solid seven game slate for us with one early game tipping off at 3:30pm ET and six games at 6:00pm ET or later. DraftKings is starting the main slate at 6:00pm ET today, so don’t get too caught up in the NFL Pro Bowl that you miss the start of the contests!
Damian Lillard – POR vs MIN – $9,200 – The Timberwolves have been in the bottom third of the league against point guards from a fantasy perspective for the majority of the season. Lillard looks to be fully recovered from his foot issues and over his last eleven games, he has been below 42.8 DraftKings points just three times and during that stretch he is averaging 35.1mpg, 24.2ppg, 4.3rpg, 7.8apg, 1.6 combined steals/blocks and 3.6 three-pointers made, which are worth a half point bonus on DraftKings scoring scale. He is an excellent building block in all formats on Sunday.
Chris Paul – LAC vs CHI – $9,600 – EARLY In the early games, CP3 is one of the premiere targets as he continues to carry the mail for the Clippers who are without Blake Griffin. Even though Paul typically doesn’t play more than 30-32 minutes per game if needed, he is still averaging 49.0 DraftKings point over his last ten games. Fade at your own risk in the early contests.
Zach LaVine – MIN at POR – $5,200 – LaVine has been on a heater and his price has increased as a result, however, the Trail Blazers have one of the least formidable backcourts and they are worth attacking from a variety of angles in most games. Over his last three outing, Zach has attacked opponents with a robust 25 real points per game resulting in a solid 34.8 DraftKings points.
Jimmy Butler – CHI at LAC – $8,900 – EARLY Butler sprained his ankle in practice on Saturday, however, all indications are that he will be ready to go on Sunday. He has had to assume even more of the scoring responsibilities for the Bulls who have been decimated by injuries. While there is some risk with Slippin’ Jimmy, he can be deployed confidently in tournament rosters today as the Clippers have struggled to defend opposing wing players this season.
Dwyane Wade – MIA vs ATL – $7,000 – Wade has been outstanding over his last four games and he is seeing a ton of volume with 19 field goal attempts per contest. It has been 48 hours since the last Heat game, so he is about as healthy as he ever will be at this point in the season. Atlanta has been in the bottom third of the league against opposing shooting guards and we can confidently target D-Wade on Sunday.
Evan Turner – BOS at ORL – $4,800 – This is a reprise of the matchup in Boston on Friday night were ET had another solid outing with his third straight game of 30+ DraftKings points. He contributes across the stat sheet and has a safe floor, with 35+ fantasy point upside when everything goes his way. This is a nice salary relief play on Sunday.
In the later games, look to the Phoenix duo of Archie Goodwin – $5,800 and Devin Booker $5,500 as fine options to employ in the shooting guard slot.
Carmelo Anthony – NYK vs GS – $8,300 – Yes, Carmelo has been sporadically missing games again, however, he has showed up for most of the marquee matchups this season and this is a game with a 217 projected point total. The Warriors are on a back-to-back road stretch barely surviving against the 76ers in Philadelphia Saturday afternoon with a three point victory. Anthony is a fine tournament option this evening.
Chandler Parsons – DAL vs PHO – $6,900 – Parsons looks to be back to full strength and his price tag has not yet caught up with his recent production. Over his last half a dozen games he is averaging just under 37mpg and producing 24.3ppg, 7.5rpg, 2.7apg and 0.9 combined blocks/steals and a robust 3.5 three pointers made for a solid 40.8 DraftKings points per game. The Suns are pretty thin with all of the injuries they have been dealing with making Parsons an excellent option in all formats.
P.J. Tucker – PHO at DAL – $5,300 – Tucker has been seeing some heavy minutes lately as the S.S. Phoenix continues to sink. Over his last four games he is averaging 36 minutes per outing and he chips in all across the board, allowing him to average 32.0 DraftKings points during this recent stretch. He should be in the 25-30 fantasy point range again today against Dallas and he is a relatively safe selection.
Chris Bosh – MIA vs ATL – $7,700 – The Bostrich continues to plug along and he has been really stepping up his scoring in the absence of Hassan Whiteside who is questionable at best to play in today’s game. While we have not seen Bosh exceed 40 fantasy points since January 4th, he has posted 33+ DraftKings points in ten of his last thirteen games. He is an outstanding play in H2H format games with his consistent production.
Taj Gibson – CHI at LAC – $5,600 – EARLY The Bulls will need Gibson to log heavy minutes against the Clippers as they are running out of BIGs. He should be in the mix for a double double against DeAndre Jordan and Company making him a solid building block in the early start games since he will provide flexibility to spend at other positions.
Julius Randle – LAL vs CHA – $6,100 – Randle has really stepped up his game to another level as he gets more NBA experience. Over the last two weeks he has four double doubles (worth bonus points on DraftKings) in seven games and over that stretch he is averaging 13.4 points and 11.1 rebounds which works out to 31.6 DraftKings points per game. He is still a little under the radar and the matchup against the injury depleted Charlotte Hornets front court is a perfect matchup.
Pau Gasol – CHI at LAC – $8,800 – EARLY It is going to be very difficult to pass over Gasol on the early Sunday games as he is at a very appealing price point for his 50+ fantasy point upside. I am rolling him out across the board myself. If you are in need of a little salary relief and can’t quite work Boom Boom Pau into your lineup, then Nikola Vucevic – ORL vs BOS – $7,600 is a fine alternate option.
Karl-Anthony Towns – MIN at POR – $7,400 – Through two games this season against Portland, Towns has averaged 29.2mpg, 19.0ppg, 8.5rpg, 1.0apg and 3.0bpg. The Trail Blazers frontcourt has not gotten any better and KAT is a phenomenal option tonight in all formats.
Gorgui Dieng – MIN at POR – $5,000 – With 84.5 DraftKings points combined over his last two games in Salt Lake City against the Jazz and at home against the OKC Thunder, Dieng will be a very popular option. Using two centers today on DraftKings is looking like a savvy strategy.
