Here are some studs and values to consider on tonight’s five-game slate. Hit me up on Twitter with comments or questions: @julianedlow.

POINT GUARD

Stud

Kyle Lowry ($8,600) – For one of the first times this season, there’s not much star power at PG on tonight’s slate. D’Angelo Russell (although he has a great matchup with DEN) and Goran Dragic are priced up, but have been slumping lately. That leaves us with Lowry, who’s in the most favorable matchup by far (BKN ranks last in the NBA vs. PGs, allowing 63 DKFP per game).

Other Options – James Harden $12,200

Value

Emmanuel Mudiay ($4,900) – Mudiay’s been up and down all season, but his last game was very encouraging: 18 points and 13 assists in 37 minutes agains the Magic (46.5 DKFP). He could be a good value tonight against the Lakers, who rank just 27th vs. PGs this season. At less than $5k, he won’t kill you if he doesn’t go off tonight, but you’d have to think he’s in a good position to scratch his ceiling.

Other Options – Michael Carter-Williams $4,500, Jerian Grant $3,500, Corey Joseph $3,400

SHOOTING GUARD

Stud

James Harden ($12,200) – The Heat have defended guards well this season, but frankly, the matchup just doesn’t matter when it comes to Harden. He’s the starting PG and SG all rolled into one when it comes to his output, statistically. He’s had a couple of rare off nights in the last 10 days, but that will never scare me away from rostering him considering the ceiling he offers.

Other Options – DeMar DeRozan $8,500, Dwyane Wade $6,500, Eric Gordon $5,800

Value

Will Barton ($5,600) – The concept is pretty simple here. Denver is pretty crowded with players on the wings, but with Gary Harris out tonight, Barton should step in as the starter and earn extra minutes. Like most of the Nuggets, Barton’s been a shaky play all season, but he’s shown a high ceiling when given opportunities, and he should have a good one tonight against the Lakers.

Other Options – Wes Matthews $5,000, Bojan Bogdanovic $4,900

SMALL FORWARD

Stud

Kawhi Leonard ($8,800) – After some duds, Kawhi’s picked it back up with 42+ DKFP in three consecutive games. Although the matchup with the athletic Timberwolves isn’t ideal, Leonard is versatile enough to find different ways to score fantasy points in bad matchups.

Other Options – Jimmy Butler $9,100

Value

DeMarre Carroll ($5,200) – Carroll’s been stepping up big time lately for Toronto. He’s exceeded value in four consecutive games, scoring 6X in three of them and even exceeding 10X on one occasion. Averaging just under 32 DKFP during that four-game span, he seems like a strong option against the Nets (who he scored 34.75 DKFP against just last week).

Other Options – Rondae Hollis-Jefferson $3,800, Caris LeVert $3,100, Nemanja Bjelica $3,000

POWER FORWARD

Stud

Dirk Nowitzki ($6,100) – With limited options at PF tonight, I think Dirk could still fly under-the-radar despite playing really well in his last three games. He’s exceeded value in all three contests, scoring between 30.5 and 40.75 DKFP, entering a matchup with the Bulls that shouldn’t limit his upside much.

Other Options – James Johnson $6,100, Taj Gibson $5,700

Value

Kenneth Faried ($4,400) – As you can tell, I’m loving the Nuggets value plays tonight. This team is so tough to figure out, but Faried’s had back-to-back strong games (29.25 and 33.25 DKFP) entering a matchup with a Lakers team that struggles against bigs. But the main reason I love Faried tonight is that he saw his minutes jump from 16 to 33 in has last game. If the playing time is there, Faried should have no problem exceeding value.

Other Options — Justin Hamilton $3,400, Luke Babbitt $3,000

CENTER

Stud

Brook Lopez ($6,300) – Lopez rested during the Nets last game, so he should be fresh for a matchup with the Raptors (who he scored 34.75 DKFP against in his last game). In fact, Lopez has topped 32 DKFP in each of his last four contests — you’re paying for consistency here rather than upside.

Other Options – Nikola Jokic $8,100, Hassan Whiteside $8,400, Jonas Valanciunas $6,200

Value

Robin Lopez ($4,200) – Don’t have the money for Brook? Then how about his brother for more than $2k less? RoLo’s been killing it lately, scoring 22+ DKFP in four consecutive games (exceeded value easily). He did in playing 37 minutes in his last game against Marc Gasol and the Grizzlies.

Other Options – Lucas Nogueira $4,100 (pending status of Patrick Patterson)

Note: Keep a close eye on news prior to lock as this could open up some value plays that were not considered early in the day.
