Highest Scoring Games
Thunder vs. Rockets – Tonight’s game with the highest o/u is a conference showdown with 214.5 points as the total. The battle between Harden and KD/Westy, should be a good one. Unfortunately, injuries have plagued the Rockets and right now we are still unsure if Terrence Jones will play.
Suns vs. Clippers – All season long you will see the Suns as one of the highest scoring teams. This is mainly due to pace and how Coach Hornacek likes to play basketball. The o/u in this one is 211 and we should see a lot of CP3 and Bledsoe. Although the addition of Tyson Chandler has given the Suns a boost down low, they will be no match for Blake Griffin and his high flying acrobatics.
Lowest Scoring Games
Cavaliers vs. 76ers – The Cavs come into this game as a 13 point favorite. The o/u in this contest is 194 and it may get out of hand quickly. There is a lot of value to be had from the 76ers, but LBJ, Love, and company may be sat down early due to a blowout.
Bucks vs. Nets – Jason Kidd has finally found his team and they are playing good basketball. With a 197 o/u this game is the 2nd lowest scoring, but has the potential to be very close. I like this competitive matchup and will definitely have some Greek Freak exposure.
Pace of Play
Fastest Projected Games
Thunder vs. Rockets – The Thunder are ranked 2nd in pace at a 102.9 in the Hollinger ratings. The Rockets are surprisingly toward the bottom. However, this matchup will be controlled by Westbrook and will be full of speed.
Slowest Projected Games
Cavaliers vs. 76ers – Guess who is ranked dead last in the Hollinger pace ratings… The 76ers. This one has the potential to get out of hand quickly and will be very slow.
Grizzlies vs. Warriors – The fastest paced team in the league has one of the slowest projected games. What? Memphis is a ball control team that plays a half court game with ZBo and Gasol at the helm. Look no further than last year’s playoffs to see that the Grizz will do their best to force the issue and slow this game down.
Defense vs. Position
Best PG Matchups
Jarrett Jack vs. Michael Carter-Williams – Jack is back off an injury and had a great debut. MCW and crew are giving up 24.7 points to opposing PGs.
Worst PG Matchups
Isaiah Canaan vs. Mo Williams/Matthew Dellavedova – Canaan has been playing good for the 76ers, but the Cavs’ duo has only been giving up 42.3 DK points to opposing guards mainly due to Delly’s defense.
Best SG Matchups
James Harden vs. Andre Roberson- Harden has naysayers this year, do you really think ARob can guard him? Neither do I, big exposure for Harden tonight.
Worst SG Matchups
J.J. Redick vs. Eric Bledsoe – J.J. doesn’t get a lot of love in the offense and only has a big game on occasion, but playing Eric Bledsoe isn’t good for any SG. The Suns have only given up 30 DK points total to opposing SGs and it should be more of the same tonight.
Best SF Matchups
Trevor Ariza vs. Kevin Durant – With Terrence Jones questionable, scoring will have to come from somewhere. KD is an elite scorer, but not an elite defender. Ariza is a very contrarian, matchup-based play tonight.
Worst SF Matchups
Timberwolves Starter vs. Al-Farouq Aminu – It doesn’t matter if Old Man Prince or Young Man Shabazz get the start, Aminu is an elite defender of the SF position and should be respected.
Best PF Matchups
Terrence Jones (If Plays) vs. Serge Ibaka – The Thunder give up the most points to PFs in the league (30.1). If Terrence Jones plays he has a great chance to replicate this number.
Worst PF Matchups
Kristaps Porzingis vs. LaMarcus Aldridge – LMA finally turned it on during the last outing. I am sure he will be more than willing to introduce the rook to the NBA tonight.
Best C Matchups
Mason Plumlee vs. Karl-Anthony Towns – Plumlee and Meyers Leonard are playing interchangeable, but the consistency lies with Plumlee. Towns is still a rookie and should give up some points tonight.
Worst C Matchups
Andrew Bogut vs. Marc Gasol – Bogut is still questionable, but even if he plays this isn’t a good matchup. If he is out and we get Uncle Festus, stay away from Marc Gasol’s defense tonight.
Lineup Quick Hits
Superstar Worth Paying For
James Harden ($9,900) – Harden has had a slow start, but should be motivated by people saying he is having an off year. He gets a good matchup in a high scoring game. The points have to come from somewhere and Harden has the ability to score a lot of them tonight.
Save Big Bucks By Drafting
Jarrett Jack ($6,000) – Jack is back and gets a juicy matchup tonight. He had a great showing during his debut and could be in for an even better outing tonight. Look for him to put up numbers in the points and assists categories.
Dud of the Night
LeBron James ($9,700) – At $9,700 LBJ has to put up about 50 DK points to hit value. He will be in a potential blowout game tonight and has the potential to sit the entire 4th. He will score and put up stats, but for how long is my fear.
