The Vegas Lines
Highest Scoring Games
Lakers vs. Warriors – The Warriors are shooting for 17-0 tonight. This one has an o/u of 213 and should provide a lot of fireworks. Unfortunately, this game is predicted as a blowout in the Warriors favor. With that said, I still think we see a lot of Steph, Klay, and Draymond. I also love the younger guards Russell and Clarkson in this matchup.
Pacers vs. Wizards – The Paul George show heads to Washington tonight. With an o/u of 206.5 this is the second highest scoring game of the night. With Beal back in the lineup and Wall starting to right the ship, this game may be worth a GPP stack.
Lowest Scoring Games
Mavericks vs. Grizzlies – The Mavs are usually a faster paced team that produces the over, however, tonight they take on the Grizzlies. The Grizzlies are one of the lowest scoring teams in the NBA (other than the Jazz). This game should be post dominated and using some shares of Marc Gasol tonight wouldn’t be far fetched.
Pace of Play
Fastest Projected Games
Lakers vs. Warriors – The Warriors play at a blazing 102.7 pace. Tonight the predicted game pace is a 101. This is by far the fastest pace of the night. Look for Steph Curry to push the ball down the court and try to get the Warriors ahead quick.
Slowest Projected Games
Bulls vs. Trailblazers – This is technically the 2nd slowest game of the night, but we all know how slow the Griz are. The Bulls and Blazers are projected at a 98.9 pace. Derrick Rose should return tonight, but this won’t speed up the post heavy bulls.
Defense vs. Position
Best PG Matchups
Stephen Curry vs. The World (or the Lakers guards) – Steph has rivaled his MVP season last year and has been completely on fire. The Lakers are 29th against opposing PG’s. Curry will look to set a record tonight and will be highly motivated to produce.
Worst PG Matchups
Jeff Teague vs. Isaiah Thomas – Isaiah Thomas and Avery Bradley are great defensive guards. The Celtics are ranked 2nd against PG’s. Teague is coming off of injury and will have to play his best to produce against the Celtics.
Best SG Matchups
Jimmy Butler vs. CJ McCollum – Jimmy Butler is the best player for the Chicago Bulls. He is also a guy that can stuff a stat sheet. Butler takes on CJ McCollum tonight, who has been great offensively. Unfortunately, the Trailblazer’s are one of the league’s worst against SG’s.
Worst SG Matchups
Jordan Clarkson vs. Klay Thompson – Klay has finally started to play basketball and his defensive stats are on the rise. Clarkson is a young guy that is usually a go to scorer for the Lakers. Thompson will look to put his team in the record books and should try to lock Clarkson down tonight.
Best SF Matchups
Harrison Barnes vs. Kobe Bryant – This matchup may be shocking for a lot of you, but the Lakers have been bad against opposing SF’s. Barnes has had +25 fantasy point performances over the last four games. Kobe isn’t the same superstar he has been.
Worst SF Matchups
Jeff Green vs. Chandler Parsons – Jeff Green has been a good value play over the last couple of weeks. Parsons is coming off of a minutes restriction, but is still a lockdown defender. The Mavs are ranked 2nd in the league against SF’s.
Best PF Matchups
Draymond Green vs. Julius Randle – Like all of his other Warriors, Green will look to come out fast tonight. Green can fill up every stat category and the Lakers are terrible against big men. Randle’s inexperience will work against him tonight.
Worst PF Matchups
Kris Humphries vs. Paul George/Lavoy Allen – The Pacers have alternated the 4 between multiple guys. If PG gets the start at the PF he has been great defensively. Humphries may have to sub in for an injured Nene tonight. This matchup is negative ev tonight.
Best C Matchups
Jared Sullinger vs. Al Horford – The Hawks are ranked 30th against opposing C’s. Sully has had a couple of off games, but should right the ship tonight. I will have a lot of exposure.
Worst C Matchups
Zaza Pachulia vs. Marc Gasol – Gasol is one of the best defensive C’s in the league. Pachulia has had a good year with the Mavs and hovers around value each night. Tonight should be a tough matchup with Gasol.
Lineup Quick Hits
Superstar Worth Paying For
Stephen Curry ($10,900) – The Chef will be looking to set a record tonight. He is projected at over 50 fantasy points and has a great shot to reach this total tonight. Curry will push the gas and not let off tonight.
Save Big Bucks By Drafting
Nikola Jokic ($4,000) – Jokic has upped his game for the Nuggets. He gets a favorable matchup with the Clippers tonight. He had a 34 point fantasy outing last game and will look to continue his value tonight.
Dud of the Night
Derrick Rose ($6,000) – Rose will be coming off of injury tonight. He has a great matchup against the Trailblazers, but most of the offense has run through Butler this year. I am staying away until he proves to me he is back at full speed.
