Game Flow Notes

Vegas Lines

HIGH O/UThunder vs. Warriors- Holy toledo the Thunder play the Warriors again. The basketball Gods love us as we get another matchup between superstars. With a total of 227.5 this has been one of the higher scoring matchups on the season. Westbrook, Durant, Curry, and Draymond are all in play. The problem with this matchup is picking the right guy or getting them all to fit (not possible). I love this game and will be rolling a couple of the stars in this one.

LOW O/USuns vs. Heat- The Heat have typically slowed teams down this season. The total for this game is 211 and is one of the slower games on the night. Hassan Whiteside should feast against a weak interior for the Suns. Dwyane Wade is also in a good spot as he comes in cheaper than most of the superstars. My favorite play for the Suns is Alex Len as he seems to finally be coming into his own.

HIGH PACEKings vs. Mavericks – Obviously the pace in the Thunder/Warriors game will be blazing. The 2nd fastest game on the night is this game. With a projected game pace of 100.8, this one should still provide a lot of action. It will be interesting to see who plays for the Kings, but DeMarcus Cousins is always in play. For the Mavs, I love Dirk and Chandler’s matchups and think they should easily hit value.

*Rajon Rondo is QUESTIONABLE tonight

LOW PACESpurs vs. Pelicans – The Pelicans are terrible and Popovich is a defensive mastermind. This is two things that don’t seem to make for an exciting game. The projected game pace is 97 and it should be fought mainly on the boards. I don’t like a lot of the plays from this one, but if you are making me choose two (which is my job) I am going with LaMarcus Aldridge and Anthony Davis. Both PFs should see the usage to hit value this evening.

Defense vs. Position

Point Guard Matchups

TARGETRussell Westbrook vs. Stephen Curry – I could bore you with numbers here, but I won’t. Highest usage rates among PGs tonight and both are elite superstars. Take your pick!

AVOIDRonnie Price vs. Goran Dragic – Dragic is ranked 2nd against against opposing PGs. He has been great defensively and is just starting to break out of his offensive shell. Price is getting minutes, but really under producing. I don’t think any Suns guard “goes off” tonight.

Shooting Guard Matchups

TARGETDwyane Wade vs. Devin Booker – Old man versus the rook. Booker won’t have any answers for Wade tonight and the 30th ranking against opposing SGs definitely won’t help. I have Wade projected at 40+ FPs on the evening.

AVOIDEric Gordon vs. Danny Green- I said this yesterday, but I repeat this today….don’t play SGs versus the Spurs. The Spurs are still ranked 1st against opposing SGs. Gordon is projected at about 20 DK points, but won’t see massive usage due to the return of Anthony Davis from injury.

Small Forward Matchups

TARGET Kevin Durant vs. Harrison Barnes- KD is eventually going to get him one and I wouldn’t be surprised if it is tonight. The Warriors are 14th against opposings SFs. I think KD rolls out a 50 burger tonight in another audition for his team next year.

AVOIDAlonzo Gee vs. Kawhi Leonard- The Pelicans are terrible, they are honestly just bad. Gee will get a lot of playing time tonight, but will have to face Kawhi. Don’t play anybody playing Kawhi!

Power Forward Matchups

TARGETDeMarcus Cousins vs. Dirk Nowitzki – Boogie may throw up 60 DK points tonight, especially if Rudy Gay is out. The Mavs are ranked 27th against PFs and really don’t have anything for Boogie. I am expecting a big night.

AVOIDSerge Ibaka vs. Draymond Green – Draymond is a great defender. He will also spot up on KD some this evening. Ibaka went off during their last matchup, but Kerr will be trying to limit this tonight. I think Ibaka reverts back to the first game and comes in under value.

Center Matchups

TARGET Hassan Whiteside vs. Alex Len- Phoenix really isn’t that bad against opposing Cs, as they are ranked 7th. However, Whiteside has seen extreme usage and should be looking at 40 DK points tonight.

AVOIDAlexis Anjica vs. Tim Duncan – This is simple, the Pelican’s are terrible. Never play a Pelican’s Center, well until next year that is.

Lineup Quick Hits

Superstar Worth Paying For

Russell Westbrook ($11,200)/Stephen Curry ($10,800) – Both of these guys are playing at such an elite level, it’s so hard not to get them in your lineups every time they take the floor. Last time out against each other, these two put on a show. I expect much of the same tonight.

EDITOR’S NOTE (5:45 PM ET): Steph Curry is still questionable tonight. We would expect him to play in a marquee matchup but he did miss Tuesday’s game and is certainly far from a lock to go tonight. If he were to miss this one, look for Shaun Livingston to pick up the slack again. Livingston played 34 minutes on Tuesday and had 22 fantasy points.

Save Big Bucks by Drafting

Alex Len ($5,600) – Len is seeing a lot of usage with Markieff out of town. I have him projected at 30 DK points tonight, but could see him put up a little more if the game gets out of hand.

Dud of the Night

Ryan Anderson ($6,100) – Top mid-tier price for the first guy of the bench. 25 DK points won’t cut it and Anderson is only in play when Anthony sits.
