Game Flow Notes
HIGH O/U – Kings vs. Rockets – The highest scoring game on the night has an o/u of 219. This game provides a lot of fantasy goodness, as two of the high projected players on the night will suit up. James Harden has an excellent matchup against the Kings SGs (who couldn’t guard me) and DeMarcus Cousins has the same type of matchup against the Rockets. If you can fit both guys into your lineup tonight it may help you take down a GPP.
LOW O/U – Celtics vs. Spurs – Oh the difference a couple of days make and well….the Spurs. The Celtics are just coming off of one of the highest scoring contests against the Kings a couple of days ago. Tonight this total is set at 188.5. The Spurs have caused every team to slow the pace down this year and because of that the scoring totals have dropped. With all of that said I do like IT2 for the Celtics and Kawhi for the Spurs.
Pace of Play
HIGH PACE – Kings vs. Rockets – Highest paced and highest scoring. Yes, please I will take a lot of action from this game. This one is also the only game with an over 100 projected game pace.
LOW PACE – Knicks vs. Bucks – And yet again we have the Bucks as our slowest pace on the night. Coming in at a 93 projected game pace, Coach Kidd will bring us another snorefest. I guess it will just be a Melo and Kristaps night if I am picking from this one.
Defense vs. Position
Point Guard Matchups
TARGET – Austin Rivers vs. Elfrid Payton – Yes you read that right, Austin Rivers. CP3 will sit tonight, which means that Rivers will get a great matchup against a terrible Magic team against the PG position. Rivers should hit value tonight.
AVOID – Derrick Rose vs. Kemba Walker – Yes, it says Kemba Walker. Kemba and the Hornets are ranked 6th against opposing PGs. D Rose has been very inconsistent this year and I think that most of this game runs through the post for the Bulls.
Shooting Guard Matchups
TARGET – James Harden vs. Ben McLemore – Guess who can’t guard SGs? Guess who is the highest projected SG on the night. I am all in on the Beard tonight.
AVOID – Avery Bradley vs. Danny Green – Surprisingly Bradley has been an offensive force for the Celtics this year. Tonight he faces a Spurs team that is ranked 1st against opposing SGs. I like his counterpart IT2 better in this one.
Small Forward Matchups
TARGET – Rudy Gay vs. Trevor Ariza – Rudy usually takes a back seat to Boogie, but tonight he also gets a great matchup. I am tempted to stack this game as the total is just too fantastic.
AVOID – Jae Crowder vs. Kawhi Leonard- I have said this before and I say it again, don’t play anyone against Kawhi Leonard.
Power Forward Matchups
TARGET – Blake Griffin vs. Channing Frye – CP3 is out tonight, which means that most of the offense will run through Blake. Do you really think that Channing Frye, or anybody on the Magic can stop him.
AVOID – Giannis Antetokounmpo vs. Kristaps Porzingis – Here we have the battle of the I can’t say your names. The Greek Freak has quietly made his way to the stretch 4 spot in Jason Kidds lineup. Porzingis, the rookie, has been great defensively. Play Giannis at your own risk.
TARGET – Karl Anthony-Towns vs. Mason Plumlee – Plumlee and the Trailblazers have been horrific against big men. Towns has been a nice source of value this year. The rookie will look to post big numbers tonight.
AVOID – Jared Sullinger vs. Tim Duncan – Despite the fact that I don’t trust Brad Stevens and his Celtic lineups. I also don’t like Sully against old man Duncan tonight. This one screams shut out.
Lineup Quick Hits
Superstar Worth Paying For
DeMarcus Cousins (10,800) – Great matchup, highest scoring game, fastest paced, and D Boogie. I have already said it and i’ll say it again. I am all in on Boogie and Harden.
Save Big Bucks by Drafting
Austin Rivers (3,900) –Rivers will draw the start against a terrible Magic team. He should be looking at 30 minutes and will only need 18 DK points to hit value.
Dud of the Night
Chris Paul (8,500) – I made him the Dud because I want to make sure you guys don’t miss this. CP3 will not play tonight.
