Vegas Lines

HIGH O/UPelicans vs. Rockets – With an o/u of 212 this is the highest scoring game on the night. I love all the plays in this game and I am even considering a game stack. I definitely will have multiple lines with Harden and AD.

HIGH O/U Warriors vs. Hornets – Check out my Hornets in the high scoring category. This game comes in at a 211 o/u. I am a little concerned about the lack of Al Jefferson, but I still feel like this one will be closer than expected. Look for Curry to try and show off in his hometown tonight.

LOW O/UBucks vs. Spurs – At 198.5 this is the lowest scoring game on the night. The Bucks have been faced with lineup changes due to low scoring output. The Spurs play a slower pace of basketball and this should resonate across the game.

LOW O/U76ers vs. Knicks – Yes, the 76ers did win a game last night. Tonight the post the second lowest total at 192. Look for Robert Covington and the 76ers to try and stay on a mini-hot streak against the Knicks tonight.

Pace of Play

NBA Cheat Sheet 12.2 Pace

HIGH PACELakers vs. Wizards – John Wall proved to us last night that he can push the pace of a game. With a projected game pace of 102.1 this is the fastest of the night. If the Wizards want to win, they have to let Wall run free. Wall will have a great opportunity to run free tonight.

HIGH PACE Suns vs. Pistons – No surprise here, the Suns are one of the fastest projected games of the night. You will consistently find the Suns in an over 100 projected game pace due their style of play.

LOW PACERaptors vs. Hawks – I’m not saying this has the makings of a boring game, but this has the makings of a boring game. The only good that may come out of this 97 projected game pace is a DeMarre Carroll revenge game.

Defense vs. Position

Here are the 3 best and worst matchups at each position tonight:

NBA Cheat Sheet 12.2 DvP

Point Guard Matchups

TARGETJohn Wall vs. D’Angelo Russell- Wow, I know that being on the “Dud” list is rough, but 60+ fantasy points rough. The Wizards know they can’t win unless Wall is the focal point. It finally seems like Wall has figured it out. The Lakers are 29th against opposing PGs. I stand behind Wall tonight!

AVOIDJeff Teague vs. Kyle Lowry – Lowry and the Raptors have been great against opposing PGs. They are currently ranked 4th in the league when it comes to defending PGs. Teague plays an integral role in the offense, but he has a tough matchup tonight.

Shooting Guard Matchups

TARGETJimmy Butler vs. Will Barton – With Gary Harris down, the Nuggets have had to turn to Will Barton and Randy Foye. Neither of these guys will be able to handle Buckets as he will try and replicate his 54 fantasy point performance he had against Golden State. The game pace, total, and defense versus position will be very similar tonight.

AVOIDArron Affalo vs. Jakarr Sampson – Affalo went bonkers the last game as he carried the scoring load for a sick Carmelo Anthony. Anthony should suit up tonight and it seems as Affalo will return to his regular role. The 76ers haven’t been good at winning games, but they have been great at shutting down opposing SGs.

Small Forward Matchups

TARGETKobe Bryant vs. Otto Porter – Kobe hit value last night after taking what felt like 6000 shots. Tonight he gets the weakest team in the league versus his position and has a great chance at hitting value if the minutes are there.

AVOIDGiannis Antetokounmpo vs. Kawhi Leonard – The Greek Freak has gone cold lately with sub 20 fantasy point performances. The Spurs are ranked 1st against opposing SFs and Kawhi is the best defender in the league. Honestly, tonight may be the night to pay up for SFs.

Power Forward Matchups

TARGETAnthony Davis vs. Clint Capela- This game should be high scoring and will offer a lot of fast paced action. Capela has come on as an offensive presence for the Rockets, but they have still struggled against opposing PFs. If the Pelican’s want to stay in the game they will need all the Brow possible.

AVOIDJerami Grant vs. Kristaps Porzingis – Grant got the start against the Lakers last night and it looks like the rotation will remain the same with Noel coming off of the bench. Kristaps is really showing his value for the Knicks and will look to control the post tonight.

Center Matchups

TARGETPau Gasol vs. Nikola Jokic – With little brother going off last game, Pau gets his shot tonight against a favorable matchup. Pau has been hot and cold this year like most of his fellow old men, but he has a great shot to hit value tonight.

AVOIDGreg Monroe vs. Tim Duncan – Monroe has been a guy I have inserted into lineups throughout the early part of the year that has ensured value. He has a tough matchup tonight against the Spurs. The Spurs are ranked 1st against opposing Cs and will look to lock the big man down tonight.

Lineup Quick Hits

Superstar Worth Paying For

Anthony Davis ($10,700) – Matchup, pace, and point total all are in the Brow’s favor. Davis has posted great value over the past couple of games. If he can maintain and play all game he is the top play of the night.

Save Big Bucks By Drafting

Clint Capela ($5,500) – Capela has been getting the start for the Rockets at PF. He has done great with his minutes and has even put up multiple double doubles. He has a great shot at reaching value tonight.

Dud of the Night

Kobe Bryant ($5,900) – It looked like Bryant was going to get hot last night, until he cooled off after three 3 pointers. He will probably see a limit in his minutes tonight and should have a floor of about 20 fantasy points.
