WATCH: 3 IN THE KEY TREVOR BOOKER

Here are the best and worst matchups from tonight’s 10-game NBA slate. Feel free to reach out on Twitter with any questions or comments: @julianedlow.

Defense vs. Position

Point Guard Matchups

BESTChris Paul ($8,700) vs. Orlando Magic – The two most helpless teams against PGs are actually squaring off on this slate — LAL vs. BKN. However, with D’Angelo Russell and Jeremy Lin both back from injury and only playing 20 minutes in their last games, they’re tough to recommend. With Harden and Westbrook both priced above CP3, don’t forget that Paul is averaging 60 DKFP over his last two games entering a matchup with Orlando (which ranks just 22nd vs PG).

WORSTJeff Teague ($6,400) vs. Miami Heat – Teague has been extremely hit-or-miss this season, and frankly, pretty unpredictable against good/bad matchups. The numbers tell us he’s not in great position tonight against the Heat, who rank third in the NBA against his position. Last week, Teague posted just 23.75 DKFP against the top-ranked Mavericks.

Shooting Guard Matchups

BESTLou Williams ($6,500) vs. Brooklyn Nets – The Nets and Lakers are both equally as bad against SG as they are PG. Williams has been hot over his last six games, topping 41.5 DKFP four times. The backcourt is a bit more crowded these days, but that didn’t stop Williams from going off against the Knicks on Sunday.

WORSTAvery Bradley ($6,300) vs. San Antonio Spurs — Not much to go on in the SG category today. PHI and OKC SGs have the toughest matchups, but are pretty cheap to begin with. Bradley’s been slumping in his last two games, so a road matchup with the Spurs isn’t well-timed for him, even with Isaiah Thomas being out.

Small Forward Matchups

BESTLuol Deng ($4,000) vs. Brooklyn Nets – If you can’t tell by now, this is kind of a weird slate with a lot of players out and the Nets/Lakers representing a lot of the best matchups … but not many stars to capitalize. Deng is cheap and has topped 30 DKFP in back-to-back games entering the contest in Brooklyn.

WORSTHarrison Barnes ($6,100) vs. Detroit Pistons — Barnes has scored 28 of fewer DKFP in three of his last four entering a matchup with Detroit, which ranks third in the NBA against SFs. Jae Crowder is also in a tough spot tonight matched up with the league’s best — Kawhi and the Spurs.

Power Forward Matchups

BESTTrevor Booker ($5,900) vs. Los Angeles Lakers – I knew you wanted more players from this electric matchup. It’s truly amazing how low these two teams rank at defending every position. In fact, the Lakers have been allowing 60+ DKFP is PF over their last five games, while Booker has topped 35 DKFP in three of his last four games.

WORSTSerge Ibaka ($6,400) vs. Los Angeles Clippers – Ibaka’s been playing well lately, particularly in his last two games. As a result, his salary is up entering a tough matchup with Blake Griffin, DeAndre Jordan and the Clippers.

Center Matchups

BESTKings Centers vs. Houston Rockets — Houston is slightly below average defending big men, but Boogie has been ruled out for tonight’s game (rest). In what’s anticipated to be a fast-paced game, whoever starts at center for the Kings could be a nice value option.

WORST Steven Adams ($5,100) vs. Utah Jazz – Adams is a beast in his own right, but he draws the difficult matchup of Rudy Gobert tonight. OKC is also on the second night of a back-to-back, so Adams isn’t in as ideal a situation as other centers on tonight’s slate.

Lineup Quick Hits

Superstar Worth Paying For

Russell Westbrook ($11,800) – Westbrook finally had a bad game last night and isn’t the most expensive player on his slate for the first time in ages. Having only played 27 minutes last night and likely fuming over the loss, I’m going to ignore the matchup with Utah and get Angry Russ for cheaper than he’s been in a long time.

Save Big Bucks by Drafting

Josh Richardson ($4,900) – Miami is decimated with injuries, so Richardson is in line for around 30 minutes against a Pacers team allowing more than 60 DKFP to SG over its last five games. Both the opportunity and matchup are there for Richardson tonight.

Next Man Up

Give me all the Cavs! – LeBron, Kyrie and K-Love are ALL resting tonight in Memphis … that means pretty much a million minutes and a million shots just opened up. Thompson, Shump, Frye, even DeAndre Liggins are all in play for me tonight. But something tells me J.R. Smith won’t mind hoisting up shots tonight, coming off dropping 23 points on Memphis last night when Cleveland played all its starters.
