Extra-inning games are always stressful – especially if you’re a fan of a team that’s trying to stay in the playoff hunt, but yesterday’s extra innings Pirate win over the Nationals in Washington certainly took its toll on a young Pittsbugh fan.
Leading 1-0 with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th inning, and with All-Star closer Mark Melancon on the mound, Daniel Murphy smacked a solo shot over the fences in right field to tie the game up at 1-1.

But it’s all good! After 18 innings – that’s right 18, as in TWO baseball games – Starling Marte went yard to put the Pirates up 2-1 and seal the deal as the Bucs got the win in the bottom of the 18th, evoking this:
Quite the day at the ballpark for this little guy, but at least he got to raise the Jolly Roger!
