Welcome back to the daily DraftKings picks where we try to get super rich playing daily fantasy baseball. As usual I’ll do a brief recap of my lineups from the night before then throw out some picks that I’m brainstorming for tonight, and hopefully get some good feedback/tips/picks from you guys either in the comment section or on Twitter @kmarkobarstool.
We’ll make this one quick because I spent all my time writing the football picks earlier. Shouldn’t be hard – lineup sucked last night.
I was like 4 points off the cash line with this one but after the 180 the night before I was hoping to keep the momentum going.
Blog picks -Cespedes put up a solid 12 points, but if you watched the game live like I did, you’d know how disappointing that score is. First at bat he flied out to the wall literally 1 foot from a home run. Second at bat he got JUST under one on a hanging breaking ball that caused Gary and Keith to say how he JUST missed a 500 foot home run there – ended up with a 2 point sac fly. He ripped an RBI single next at bat and at least hit double digits but that could have easily been a 40 point game.
Matt Carpenter, booooo. Value play Guyer – 0 points. 2.9K will do that to you.
On to tonight-
–Jose Fernandez is your most expensive guy and this is no doubt a great matchup. Just be careful because the Marlins season is basically done and they may have him on a short pitch count. I think I’ll be looking at cheaper options.
-Not one of those cheaper options – Syndergaard. Love the guy but think he’s overpriced here for a road matchup.
–Richards, Martinez and Zimmerman are 3 great next-tier pitchers to give a long look tonight, I like all of them with their matchups.
-I love Carlos Rodon this season – I can’t really recommend him in this spot, but if you’re doing multiple lineups, throwing him in one against the Yankees lineup could pay off big.
–Sabathia and Dickey are two very risky plays that are just cheap enough to maybe take a shot on if you want to squeeze Coors bats in…and Rich Hill anyone?
SS Corey Seager $6.4K
6.4K? Is that a typo? Kmarko has lost his DAMN MIND!!!! Easily the craziest play I’ve had all season. Corey Seager, in like his second month of playing pro baseball, 21 years old, more expensive than future MVP Bryce Harper was during one of the hottest streaks we’ve ever seen this season. I actually LOL’ed when I saw the price. So why is he listed here? Because that’s such a bomb tournament play. How many people are gonna have the balls to play Seager at this price? I do…either that, or the past few months of up-and-down rollercoaster rides of fantasy lineups have driven me literally insane. I’m not even sure he’s going to be in the lineup to be honest now that Turner and Rollins are back. Soooo, if you’re going to spend 6.4K on the guy…I’d probably check up on that.
OF Mike Trout $4.4K
Ok phew, now we’re being more reasonable. Honestly not a great tourney play here because he should be really high owned, but sometimes when you see Mike Trout facing Vidal Nuno for 4.4K you kind of have to play him or else just quit fantasy forever. I’ve fallen
for plenty of traps like this before, but when I see the best player in baseball priced lower than Denard Span, I put him in my lineup and move on.
OF Andre Ethier $3.8K
The whole Dodger lineup and like half the Rockies lineup is in play, so we’ll dip down to find some value and hey, look at that, Andre Either only 3.8K. He’s been slumpy lately but nothing that a little Coors Field action can’t fix. The Dodgers have a 6.10 team total – that’s the highest I can remember seeing this season, at least in a longgg time.
That’s it for me, hit me up @kmarkobarstool with your plays of the night. Maybe help me out getting a good hitter in my lineup, that would be nice. Also if you enjoy the blogs and are depositing tonight use my referral code, we’ll both get hooked up with a free ticket.
