If you haven’t noticed by now, WNBA has arrived on DraftKings! And you’ve got to love an 11 A.M. four-game slate. The concept is simple if you’re familiar with playing NBA, but this time, you’ll only need to select two guards, three forwards and a utility play.

This targets article will break down some of the top plays by position, but make sure you do your homework and follow injury news leading up to games. With fewer reporters and sources in the league, injury and lineup news can take longer to come out — sometimes just before the game. The WNBA teams have been very helpful on Twitter thus far, though, so if you have a question you can even try reaching out to them directly!

Notable injuries – Brittney Griner and Ellena Delle Donne are both OUT with injuries. Diana Taurasi sat out last game for undisclosed reasons and her status for Wednesday is up in the air.

As usual, I’ll be around to try and help you best I can, so don’t be shy: @julianedlow.

GUARDS

Skylar Diggins-Smith – DAL vs. MIN – $11,900 – Diggins-Smith is a beast when it comes to putting up numbers across the board — hence scoring 30+ DKFP in eight of her last 10 games. She averages 34.5 DKFP on the season and has topped that number in each of her last four games while playing a minimum of 33 minutes. Her scoring has been up during that stretch too, scoring 20 or more points in each of those outings. She’s always on the floor, is heavily involved and produces volume numbers. Minnesota has also been killed by guards recently, so there is not much more you can ask for.

Layshia Clarendon – ATL vs. WAS – $12,100 – Clarendon carries more risk than SDS, but has been just as hot recently. In her last four games, she’s played no fewer than 31 minutes and is averaging 38.9 DKFP. Clarendon can score, but also is a fantastic distributor and rebounder, which has helped her fantasy production over this recent hot streak. Her season-long numbers may not be impressive, but what she’s been doing on the floor lately has been.

Sugar Rodgers – NY vs. CON – $7,700 – Rodgers comes cheaper than these other elite guards, but has been on a similar streak of good games. Her counterpart in the backcourt, Epiphanny Prince, hasn’t been on top of her game lately, and Sugar’s been capitalizing. In her last three games, Rodgers is averaging 27.8 DKFP, and that includes 30.5 in just 21 minutes of action in her last game (a blowout win over Washington). The upside isn’t quite as attractive as the top options, but you’re saving more than $4,000 in salary here.

Other Options – Jasmine Thomas $9,100, Danielle Robinson $4,600

FORWARDS

Tina Charles – NY vs. CON – $12,600 – Charles had a very rare poor game on Sunday, scoring just six points and 20.75 DKFP. Glad she got that out of her system because it’s very unlikely that will happen again on Wednesday. Prior to that outing, Charles had topped 42 DKFP in four straight games, averaging 48.1 during the stretch. The last time she faced Connecticut she dropped 46.75 DKFP, so there’s a lot to like here. Charles is the ideal WNBA fantasy player.

Sylvia Fowles/Maya Moore – MIN vs. DAL – $11,700/$10,900 – Two for the price of one! Fowles and Moore and Minnesota’s two best players, but you don’t have to pick one or the other. Many times stacking them can be the key. They both scored 36 or more DKFP on Friday against Phoenix, and even more notably, both scored 38+ DKFP in a meeting against Dallas earlier this season (Fowles nearly dropped 50). This combo is a decent GPP stack to consider.

Elizabeth Williams – ATL vs. WAS – $9,600 – Williams has been the model of consistency lately. She’s quietly topped 30 DKFP in five straight games and has been playing far better than her season stats would indicate. Her fantastic defense and rebounding allow her fantasy value to grow, as she didn’t even score double-digit points in two of her recent 30+ DKFP games. Williams has 22 blocks and nine steals over her past five, which has sparked plenty of fantasy goodness. With Delle Donne out, Williams should have an even easier time on the interior.

Angel Robinson – PHO vs. IND – $3,600 – No Griner means there are some big minutes to go around in the frontcourt for Phoenix. Robinson isn’t typically much of a contributor; however, she played 20 minutes last game and produced 16.5 DKFP without Griner on the floor. Anything close to this for just $3,600 would be a great value play in your lineup.

Other Options – Alyssa Thomas $9,700, Natalie Achonwa $4,700

I am a promoter at DraftKings and am also an avid fan and user (my username is jedlow) and may sometimes play on my personal account in the games that I offer advice on. Although I have expressed my personal view on the games and strategies above, they do not necessarily reflect the view(s) of DraftKings and I may also deploy different players and strategies than what I recommend above.
