So! Here we are, week six of the EPL season and week two for DFS Soccer on DraftKings. I hope everyone enjoyed week one and is ready to make some money in week two! Slight adjustment to make this week, we have a single slate starting at 10am ET on Saturday. This is a 7 game slate, excluding the early kickoff (Liverpool vs Everton) and the Sunday and Monday games.

Without further ado lets get into some picks. As always, I will go position by position and try and give you players I like at each price point.

Goalkeeper:

Joe Hart ($4,600):
Hart is probably your safest play in cash games. He faces Hull in a game that Man City should dominate. He may not face too many shots but should be as close to a lock as you can get for the Win bonus points with a great chance of the clean sheet.

Fraser Forster ($4,300):
Southampton are a team I like a lot this week, this starts with the goalie. Forster has one advantage over Hart in that he is at home against a Queens Park Rangers side who look have the worst goal difference in the league at -8, this comes from both a lack of goals scored and a large number conceded. I like Forster for the win here and with a high chance of clean sheet too. In a GPP i’d lean his way over Hart as he may well have more potential for saves.

David De Gea ($4,000):
So, I must be crazy right? Coming off 5 goals conceded last week? What you must understand is that was some atrocious defending in front of him. I’d wager Man Utd employ a change of tactics coming into this week. Also returning home will help and don’t underestimate their NEED for a performance in this game. In front of their own fans I anticipate a bounce back, making De Gea the perfect GPP play. Almost everyone will be off him after last week and he has the same upside as anyone at a slight discount. That said, I won’t be trusting him in cash games.

Defender:

Aleksandar Kolorov ($4,500) OR Gael Clichy ($3,100):
One of these guys will start at left back for Man City this weekend, we can’t be certain which it will be but both make great plays. Kolorov has more upside being that he often takes free kicks for Man City with his rocket of a left foot. If Eden Dzeko starts up front, boost the upside on these guys and the wide men in midfield as they are much more likely to cross the ball with the big target man in the box.

Nathaniel Clyne ($4,100) and Ryan Bertrand ($4,000):
Both are great plays this week, I would not be against stacking the two of them. The starting full backs for Southampton in a game I have already said I give them a reasonable chance of a shutout, they are both guys who also love to push forward. Both offer a solid floor of a few crosses per game and the potential upside of clean sheet bonus and assist(s).

Bacary Sagna ($2,800):
Pablo Zabaleta was sent off last week for Man City. Sagna should draw the start at right back and allows you cheap access to the strongest defence no the slate and the upside of a full back without the price tag of a guy like Kolorov. I love this play if you are in need of salary relief.

Other defenders I like: Branislav Ivanovic ($4,100) and Patrick Van Aanholt ($2,600).

Midfielder:

Angel Di Maria ($10,700):
Most expensive midfielder on the slate, with good reason. You may as well get used to that because his price isn’t going to come down anytime soon. He has a goal and an assist in each of the last two games totalling 56 fantasy points in these games. He has a great matchup this week on the big pitch at Old Trafford, any defence in the league is going to be overmatched against him, he offers a good floor of multiple crosses and shots per game with the likelihood that if Man Utd score multiple goals, he is going to be involved in at least one.

Eden Hazard ($8,300):
Hazard makes a great GPP play in my opinion. He is a star, but this season seems to be lost in the shadow of Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa (also both excellent plays). He has assists in each of the last 3 games and has multi-goal upside on any given week. He also comes at a nice discount from the other two I mentioned if you would like some probably lower percentage owned exposure to that potent Chelsea offence.

Yaya Toure ($6,500):
A player under fire, Toure needs to prove a point. The media are all over him for his effort, or lack there of, in recent weeks. He looked brighter last week against Chelsea and this is the perfect game for the big Ivorian to show everyone why he was on the shortlist for PFA player of the year last year. He comes at a discount and I think he has a great opportunity to get on the scoresheet this week.

Jason Puncheon ($4,500):
Who? Ok, so not your average household name, but quietly a solid fantasy producer so far this season. Puncheon has scored between 9 and 16 points in each of the last 4 games. At his reduced salary he makes a great play in what should be considered a plus matchup at home to Leicester, who we all saw get exploited defensively last week by Man Utd.

Other midfielders I like: Erik Lamela ($7,300), Stewart Downing ($7,000) and Ander Herrera ($5,200).

Forward:

Diego Costa ($11,200):
Most expensive but also the best, his production so far this season has been amazing. He has adjusted to the EPL and if you can afford him, don’t hesitate to play him.

Alexis Sanchez ($8,400):
So, who got burned by the late decision to rest him last week? Blank it from your memory, this is DAILY fantasy sports, we cannot dwell on things that burned us last week. Alexis is very Di Maria like just listed at a different position, he offers all the same upside at quite the discount. For those who don’t know Arsenal – Tottenham is the North London Derby and considered one of the most important games of the season for both club’s fans. They are also known for being open and exciting affairs, this should play right into Alexis’ hands and I love him this week. I project this as being the lowest we see his salary for the rest of the season.

Edin Dzeko ($8,300):
Teammate Sergio Aguero is also a great play at $9,900 but I think Man City will look to their physical players like Yaya Toure and Dzeko to take the lead against Hull on the road. This Hull side won’t roll over, they will want to get in Man City’s faces and rough them up, I think Pellegrini will start Dzeko and he would be my favourite of anyone to score from this game, his moderate price makes him very appealing.

Leonardo Ulloa ($7,200):
I’d be doing him a disservice if I didn’t write him up this week. A plus matchup and 4 goals in his last 3 games make this guy the ‘hot hand’ that many people will be looking to in their GPPs and couldn’t be blamed for playing him even in cash games.

Other forwards I like: Radamel Falcao ($8,200), Graziano Pelle ($7,200) and Frazier Campbell ($4,000).

That wraps things up for me, hope the picks help you with your lineups this weekend! Feel free to hit me up on twitter @cjhopkins07 with any feedback or questions, I will be around right up to lineup lock on Saturday.

Good Luck!
