We’re just a week out from the NFL season, which means fantasy football is almost here.
If you’re playing fantasy football this season, you’ll want to read on for some under-the-radar players. Consider using these players in your Fantasy Football Millionaire lineups on DraftKings Week 1.
1st Place Wins $1 Million!
When looking at some of the lower-priced QBs, many might be drawn to rookie Dak Prescott ($5,000), who appears likely to start week 1 for Tony Romo. Dak has been phenomenal in the preseason, and opens up at home against a Giants secondary that was shaky at best last year.
However, a former NFC East quarterback should also be considered in this spot. Robert Griffin III is only slightly more expensive at $5,600 and has been impressive in camp so far. A combination of him and his top WRs, Corey Coleman ($5,100) or Terrelle Pryor ($3,000) , could spare some of your salary cap to use elsewhere.
Similar to Romo/Prescott, an early injury to Patriots running back Dion Lewis has drawn a lot of attention to James White ($3,600) and LeGarrette Blount ($3,700). While these will be popular picks, they are facing a tough Arizona defense on the road, without Tom Brady to shoulder the offense.
Jamaal Charles is currently listed as questionable, and if he were to be limited in action, Spencer Ware ($4,400) would be in great position for a breakout game. The Chiefs are home against the Chargers, and should run the ball early and often. Don’t be surprised if Ware ends up with 15-20 touches and 2 touchdowns.
The Titans are not expected to be a high scoring offense, but after trading Dorial Green-Beckham, they have two starting receivers priced at almost minimum salary. Richard Matthews ($3,300) and Tajae Sharpe ($3,000) are good discounts. A stat line of 6 catches, 70 yards and a TD is realistic and would be good value at that price.
If you are looking for a receiver with more upside, Texans rookie Will Fuller ($3,700) has looked great in preseason. He only played 3 seasons at Notre Dame, but had 29 touchdowns in his final two seasons and averaged 20.3. yards per catch in 2015. This is a much riskier pick, but Fuller is a prime candidate for a long TD in Week 1. Fuller’s teammate, Jaelen Strong ($3,800) is also battling for the #2 spot, and caught a 17 yard touchdown in the Texans most recent preseason game. Keep an eye on this preseason battle, as either could be in good position at home vs the Bears in week 1.
