All season long DraftKings users have been winning millions of dollars by playing in weekly fantasy football contests. On Thanksgiving only, DraftKings is offering a great opportunity to win a share of $600,000. All you have to do is draft the 9 NFL players you think will score the most fantasy points during the games on Thursday. Draft 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 Flex and 1 Defense while staying under the $50,000 salary cap. The entry fee is only $20 and first place wins $100,000. Finish with one of the top 8,150 scores and get paid when the Seahawks-49er’s game ends. Weekly fantasy football is the easiest way to add excitement to Thanksgiving football.
With only six teams playing on Thursday, it is even more important to draft the right players. Looking back at Week 12 performances can help select a winning team.
Jay Cutler ($6,900)
Last Week: As the Bears have the struggled the past few weeks, so has Jay Cutler. Even against what initially appeared to be a good match-up against Tampa Bay, Cutler was only able to muster up 8.2 fantasy points.
This Week: Even if Cutler was playing well the Lions would have been a tough match-up. Going into this week the Lions are allowing the 5th fewest fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks. It is hard to justify spending almost $7,000 on a quarterback coming off a poor performance and playing against one of the leagues premier pass defenses.
Mark Sanchez ($6,800)
Last Week: Sanchez continued his streak of passing for over 300 yards since taking over the starting from the injured Nick Foles. While he only threw one touchdown, Sanchez was able to complete almost 70% percent of passes.
This Week: With only six starting quarterback options on Thanksgiving, Sanchez provides good value as the 5th most expensive quarterback. Helping out Sanchez this week is a favorable match-up against the Cowboys who are coming off a Sunday night game in which they gave up over 300 yards to Eli Manning.
Joique Bell ($4,700)
Last Week: Opportunity once again can not be blamed for Bell not performing. With Reggie Bush sidelined, Bell had 19 carries for only 48 yards. This also was the fourth straight game Bell was unable to score a touchdown. All this culminated in a total of 5.6 fantasy points.
This Week: The likely return of Reggie Bush can only hurt Bell’s value for this week. Bell’s failure to establish himself as a lead running back combined with his inability to score touchdowns makes him a risky play this week.
Matt Forte ($8,700)
Last Week: Forte continued his stellar season with another strong performance against the Buccaneers. He was able to rush for 89 yards and 2 touchdowns while also adding 5 catches for 23 yards for a total of 28.2 fantasy points. This was another great game for Forte who has only scored below 20 fantasy points 3 times this season.
This Week: In a scoring system that rewards players with one point per catch, Forte’s ability to catch passes has elevated him to an elite running back. His season total of 72 catches has him in a tie for fourth place among all NFL players. Like almost every week of this season, Forte can safely be drafted.
Michael Crabtree ($4,700)
Last Week: After a strong performance against the Giants, Crabtree reverted back to his usual modest production. He was able to catch 5 of his 7 targets, but for a total of only 58 yards. Anquan Boldin’s big game showed once again he is the preferred target of Colin Kaepernick.
This Week: Crabtree faces a Seahawks defense that is giving up the fewest points this season to opposing wide receivers. The only hope for a strong fantasy performance by Crabtree is if he can score one or two touchdowns which seems unlikely against the stingy Seahawks defense.
Jordan Matthews ($5,700)
Last Week:The rookie wide out from Vanderbilt has seen a surge in production since Mark Sanchez took over as the starting quarterback. Matthews continued his increased role in the offense with a solid 6 catch, 77 yard performance last week against the Titans.
This Week: There is no reason for Matthew’s recent hot streak to come to an end this week against the Cowboys. His four touchdowns in the past four games show promise of Matthews getting into the end zone once again on Thursday. Matthews provides great value at $5,700 and is a suggested play.
