James Maddison

This is the rare Saturday slate in which every team plays at the same time, which means you won’t have to wait on a starting XI to release. While Man City are a huge favorite, you’ll still need to back an underdog or two, especially if you want a chance at the EPL $35K Counter Attack Special [$5K to 1st].

Sergio Aguero, Manchester City vs. Brighton, $9,800 — Aguero will probably be too popular, but given that he has the best odds to score and is cheaper than a couple of his teammates, it’s an easy decision in cash games. He’s also set for a full 90 with Gabriel Jesus injured and that means more opportunities in a match Man City should dominate.

Other Options — Raheem Sterling, Man City, $10,800; Jamie Vardy, Leicester City, $8,100; Sebastien Haller, West Ham, $7,900

Ismaila Sarr, Watford at Newcastle, $5,300 — The time is now for Sarr, who started, scored and played on the wing in 72 minutes of Tuesday’s League Cup win. He came off the bench last weekend and there’s a good chance he makes the XI against Newcastle. While Newcastle won their last match and are favored, they’re still expected to battle relegation all season (similar to Watford). Watford should be competitive and Sarr should whip in a few crosses at a minimum.

Other Options — Wesley, Aston Villa, $5,200; Leandro Trossard, Brighton, $5,000; Yoshinori Muto, Newcastle, $4,400

James Maddison, Leicester City vs. Bournemouth, $9,700 — Kevin De Bruyne is more likely to make the scoresheet, but Maddison has a better floor in a match that should be more open. Maddison leads the league in accurate crosses (10), while Bournemouth have allowed the most accurate crosses (20). It’s a perfect fit and a floor of 15 fantasy points wouldn’t be a stretch.

Other Options — Kevin De Bruyne, Man City, $9,900; Ryan Fraser, Bournemouth, $7,000; Matt Ritchie, Newcastle, $6,900

Todd Cantwell, Norwich City at West Ham, $4,400 — At some point, Cantwell’s price is going to rise. While his floor has dropped since the opener, he’s still involved in Norwich’s attack with a shot on goal in each of the last two matches. His floor may only be five points, but West Ham are always prone to allowing a goal no matter the location and Cantwell has a decent chance of being involved.

Other Options — Oliver Norwood, Sheffield United, $5,500; Will Hughes, Watford, $5,000; Jorginho, Chelsea, $4,100

Oleksandr Zinchenko, Manchester City vs. Brighton, $5,200 — Zinchenko isn’t a defender who will whip in 10-plus crosses, but he’s going to be in the attacking third a lot in this match. He’s held a floor near 10 points through shots assisted (seven), crosses (nine) and a ton of passes. With great odds for a clean sheet, he should be near that 10-point mark again with a touch of upside.

Other Options — Roberto Pereira, Leicester City, $5,600; Jose Holebas, Watford, $5,400; Patrick van Aanholt, Crystal Palace, $4,800

Emil Krafth, Newcastle vs. Norwich City, $3,500 — Krafth doesn’t have the same crossing numbers as teammate Matt Ritchie, but he plays on the opposite side, which has resulted in five crosses in two starts. This match is more favorable than the prior three for Newcastle and I think Krafth can get up the field a little more, which should lead to a floor of at least five points to go with a possible clean sheet.

Other Options — Joel Ward, Aston Villa, $3,700; Jack O’Connell, Sheffield United, $3,200; Nathan Ake, Bournemouth, $3,200

Ederson, Manchester City vs. Brighton, $5,900 — If spending up at goalkeeper is your strategy, this is probably the best situation for it. Ederson may not make more than one or two saves, but he has some of the best win and clean sheet odds of the season. Unlike Man United last week, City can be trusted after winning 18 of 19 home matches last season.

Other Options — Kasper Schmeichel, Leicester City, $5,600; Vicente Guaita, Crystal Palace, $5,100; Martin Dubravka, Newcastle, $4,900

Dean Henderson, Sheffield United at Chelsea, $3,700 — I don’t think Sheffield United will win, but Henderson has a chance to finish in the positive, which is better than most underdogs. His selling point is that Chelsea have the worst rate in the league of shots on goal (20) to goals (four). If Mason Mount misses out due to injury, that helps even more as he’s been one of Chelsea’s brightest spots in the early season.

Other Options — Ben Foster, Watford, $4,600; Tim Krul, Norwich City, $4,300; Mat Ryan, Brighton, $3,600
