(ABC) – Lowy stumbled as he went to present Melbourne Victory coach Kevin Muscat with the championship trophy on Sunday, tumbling off the dais and to the turf.  The crowd of 29,843 at AAMI Park was shocked to silence as medics rushed to the 84-year-old’s aid.  The Westfield founder soon got to his feet and completed formalities, then left the field unassisted after the scare.  “Lowy received treatment from paramedics on the scene and was cleared of any serious injury,” a FFA spokesperson said.  “He has soreness in the shoulder from the fall, but is otherwise OK.

Much like Castro and the Grape Lady before him, Frank Lowy has now attained what all humans strive for; immorality.  He has created a memory that will live on past all of us.  Obviously the best part is that he ended up okay. Makes it much much easier to laugh at behind a computer screen.  The only real shame here is there’s no audio of the sounds he made as his 84 year old body violently fell to the turf.  Not only sounds of surprise but also genuine fear and pain.  It’s the only reason the internet exists.  Auto tune remixes don’t write themselves.
