Timo Werner ($9,600) – Werner didn’t score in his return to the Bundesliga as Leipzig restarted their campaign with a 1-1 draw. Still, Werner is a crucial target because he is the second-highest goal-scorer in this Bundesliga season with 21 goals. He also has seven assists. A price of $9,600 for this level of production is an opportunity.
Others to consider: Mark Uth ($10,600)
Robin Quaison ($6,700) – Interestingly, Quaison isn’t too far behind Werner on the goal-scoring charts. In fact, he is the fourth-highest goal-scorer this season with 12 goals. Yet, the difference in price is so stark that Quaison is one of the best value-for-money options on this slate. He is averaging 11.1 DKFP per game.
Christopher Nkunku ($9,800) – Nkunku, the French national, has added plenty of value to this Leipzig team already. He fits down the right flank behind the striker in a 3-3-2-2 formation. This allows him some room in the middle half of the pitch to find his accuracy. He has chipped in with 12 assists this season.
Others to consider: Florian Kainz ($8,400).
Jean-Paul Boetius ($5,300) – You will have to be careful with offensive players in the next few months in fantasy soccer with the additional two substitutes allowed per game. Beotius may or may not be pulled in before the completion of the game, but the probability of playing more minutes is higher than several other players in this slate. He has scored three goals along with five assists this season.
Daniel Brosinski ($5,500) – Mainz isn’t the best defensive team. They have conceded 55 goals so far in the season, an average of more than two goals per game. However, Brosinski can be a vital addition to your team because of his ability to contribute offensively as well. He has scored two goals with three assists this season. He is also averaging 11.1 DKFP per game.
Marcel Halstenberg ($4,600) – I’d be looking for stacking targets from Leipzig in particular. Werner and Nkunku fill the striker and midfielder positions, respectively. Defensively, Halstenberg isn’t a bad option at all. Halstenberg plays primarily as left back for Leipzig. He is one of only three defenders in this slate to average more than 10 DKFP per game.
GoalkeepersPeter Gulacsi ($5,800) – Leipzig is the best defensive team on this slate. That means stacking not just offensively, but defensively, too. They have conceded just 27 goals, second lowest in the entire Bundesliga behind league leaders Bayern Munich. Gulacsi has a strong chance of adding to his tally of clean sheets in this game.
Others to consider: Timo Horn ($5,400).
