Goalie

This will be fun! Let’s go!

Devan Dubnyk ($8700) – These are strict low to moderate risk plays for this reason. Dallas, no one knows what you are going to see or get. It is not going to be dull. That is a given. Dubnyk has been so good and pretty damn scary good at that. Dallas just does not have that confidence too play with more balance. This could be a game where there are more goals than expected or it could completely just crash and burn. Either way, pay attention to some trends before the game but Dubnyk could be a GPP or cash play.

Cam Talbot ($7500) – We keep acting shocked by going with this but Ranger goalie has played well enough to see a mention on here. This will be considered a more risky play. Anyway, let’s have some fun with it. Talbot does not have the greatest point totals but you only have to know that he wins. His 5-2-2 record is his calling card right now. Nobody really has Talbot on their radar but the goalie has played better.

Others to consider:  Jaroslav Halak ($8800), Ben Bishop ($7400). — Oh just watch Twitter for more!

Center

Derick Brassard ($5400) – Nash really enjoys having Derick Brassard as his center. Thankfully 12 points in his last nine games was one of those surprises that most forget about. His 11 assists were among the league leaders over the last few weeks. Now with a few waves of the wand, Brassard has magically become a heck of a playmaker — even better than what he was last season. As Brassard approaches a 60+ point season, one has to give him credit as really is playing above his head.

Mike Fisher ($5300) – That idea where the Nashville lines were reshuffled so that Fisher is still in the top six. Fisher is on a power line with Craig Smith and Filip Forsberg. Oh by the way, the Predators get to face Buffalo and the second line seems to be the line most have the spotlight shined more brightly. The speed and acceleration of this line alone is going to cause the Sabres a lot of fits. Good luck Buffalo trying to contain Fisher and company.

Others I like:  Sidney Crosby ($8900), Tyler Johnson ($5700), Nick Bjugstad ($5,200). — Watch for Crosby/Malkin in cash games and Bjugstad updates (may or may not play ).

Value: Colton Sceviour ($3000), Calle Jamkrok ($2500).

Winger

Rick Nash ($9200) – Nash really could get to 40 goals by the end of the month or sooner. That is the best part about this Nash outburst. Columbus is a really solid match-up. He causes nightmares by just being on the ice. With Derrick Brassard on his side, the left winger just keeps looking great and performing at nearly five DraftKings points per contest. This is just a season for the ages and most are just fortunate to be able to own Nash.

Josh Bailey ($4700) – If you play one, you must play Anders Lee. The laughable part is John Tavares is more than twice the price of Bailey now ($9600). This is part of what I like to call a support stack. Basically you don’t go for the main piece, you go for the support parts. It is even better than hedging if the gamble works. Take the shot at the winger and roll with it. A few more weeks and the run may end. Enjoy the wave!

Others I like: Patric Hornqvist ($5500), Filip Forsberg ($5400), Radim Vrbata ($5000).

Value: Brett Ritchie ($2700), Steve Downie ($2700).

Defence

Kris Letang ($6700) – Defense prices are pretty solid as Letang finds himself in a good position against Florida. Even if he just blocks several shots and fires several times on net, all it takes is an assist or goal for the defenseman to hit value and lately those assists have just kept on coming. His cost is actually rather effective and a home date against Florida after a big win in St. Louis should be good enough for me and for anyone who decides to own him.

John Klingberg ($3900) – Yes the defenseman just keeps on finding ways to get points. Even in the wackiest game of Dallas’ season, Klingberg did well enough to earn an assist on what was a bad night defensively for him. He found a way and maybe against Minnesota, he can sneak some daily points for you yet again. At the very least, this will be an intriguing pick. It’s a gamble given how Dallas has played lately. Hopefully this one works.

Others I like: Travis Hamonic ($4000), Aaron Ekblad ($3800).

Value:  Simon Despres ($3000), Matt Dumba ($2900).

Thanks for reading guys and hopefully the picks help you out. If you have any questions, fire them away at me on twitter @ChrisWasselTHW and i’ll do my best to answer them.

Good luck tonight!
