We head into a Saturday with four games as the playoffs continue with a Game 5, three Game 6’s, and many questions abound.

For those wanting to take it easy, here is a “low stakes” type of GPP just for you:

Goalie

Ben Bishop ($8500) – This is going to be a high risk pick but there is a lot of tough sledding with the Islanders-Capitals game early. The rest of the games are not all that much better. Also, Tampa Bay has that dynamite record at home and so does Bishop. The goalie has a .920 save percentage in his last ten games and looked more sure of himself late in Game 4. That should serve him well in Game 5 with the raucous crowd.

Jonas Hiller ($8300) – Honestly Hiller was not all that bad in the Game 5 loss to Vancouver. After all he only gave up two goals. It will be the “Sea Of Red” trying to will Calgary to a series win in Game 6. This is the fun part and seems hard to believe but the Calgary goalie does become a moderate GPP risk on this kind of Saturday slate. There is a decent amount of give here and he may be owned a little higher than usual.

Others to Consider: Scott Darling ($8200), Jaroslav Halak ($8400) —  Halak cannot lose this game, can he?

Center

John Tavares ($9100) – At some point, Tavares has to show up and have a tour de force game in this series. It has not happened yet and when the Islanders are 0 for 12 on the power play, questions have to be asked even with the best player on the team. Four points in five games is not bad but it is nowhere near good enough. The time is now for John Tavares and the Islanders. Will he be able to produce that elusive multiple point game?

Tyler Johnson ($8400) – The status of Luke Glendening may be key and then again it might not be given the 6:00 stretch that Johnson had late in the third period and in overtime where he had two goals and an assist in a huge 3-2 OT win in Detroit. It does not matter the size of the player, it is the heart that truly matters. Maybe Steven Stamkos can learn a thing or two here on how to play in the playoffs because the young player is spearheading the triplets line in a big way.

Others to Consider:  Steven Stamkos ($9000), Sean Monahan ($6000), Ryan Strome ($4200) — Consider Jonathan Toews as a low to moderate risk.

Values: Marcus Kruger ($2700), Cedric Paquette ($2700)

Winger

Alex Ovechkin ($9400) – Kind of like Tavares, when does Ovechkin get it going? The Washington power play has short circuited as well, going 1 for 10 in this series so far. Actually both teams have been a bit disciplined while the left winger has had chances, he has not had the finish needed. Does Washington and Ovechkin really want to see a Game 7 at home one more time? The great #8 wants to end this now!

Kyle Okposo ($7800) – Cue up the laugh track here but if the Islanders are going to extend this season. Tavares and Okposo have got to be the guys that carry them. There is no retreat, no surrender here! This is paramount on the power play which has looked stifled and suppressed. It is not like anyone else is going to do it for them so guys like Okposo are just going to have to do this themselves.

Others to Consider: Radim Vrbata ($6900), Johnny Gaudreau ($5800), Nikita Kucherov ($4500), Ondrej Palat ($4500), David Jones ($3800).

Values:  Nikolay Kulemin ($2900), Bryan Bickell ($2700).

Defense

Dennis Wideman ($5900) – This is where I do not want to spend quite as much ideally if I can get away with it. Wideman tends to get points on first line and power play goals so this is a moderate but could be worthwhile risk. The Flames power play tends to be a rather good one with that first unit being quite dangerous. Kris Russell may even be a good side play as well if you are feeling ambitious about the Flames on this night.

Victor Hedman ($5600) – You have to smile at the third period and overtime that Hedman played and this is another case where maybe a team duo defensive stack could work by playing Anton Stralman with the Swedish defenseman. It is going to be paramount that Hedman must get his big shot on goal and more often. Too many times his shots and passes get blocked. Game 5 will be pivotal and it is time for Tampa’s top pairing to step up!

Others to Consider: Mike Green ($5100), Johnny Boychuk ($4700), Seth Jones ($3800), Niklas Kronwall ($3600)

Values:  David Schlemko ($2700), Danny DeKeyser ($2700).

Thanks for reading guys, and hopefully the picks help you out. If you have any questions, fire them away at me on twitter @ChrisWasselDFS, and I’ll do my best to answer them.

Good luck tonight!
