This article will identify the best line-stacking combos to use for fantasy hockey purposes every night. Considering that at least one player on a forward line will often get an assist on a goal when his line mate scores, stacking players from the same line can prove very fruitful for fantasy purposes. Use these targets to help identify some of your best options every night.

High Priced First lines

Derek Stepan ($5400) – Rick Nash ($6900) – Mats Zuccarello ($5000)

The Rangers are a fickle offensive team but get a cupcake matchup versus the Maple Leafs who are letting teams walk all over them at the moment. The Leafs are third last in the league in penalty killing and have been let down by weak goaltending all season. Tonight the Rangers will see Jonathan Bernier who is still searching for his first win in 5 appearances and is sporting a save percentage barely above .900. The Rangers first line could easily breakout tonight against the Leafs who will likely have no real answer for tenacity this line brings. I’d look past their slow last few games and consider them as a solid line stack tonight.

Others: The other top line I’d 100% recommend tonight is Kuznetsov/Overchkin/Oshie, see my writeup on them in the NHL cheat sheet

Value Trios

Eric Staal ($5600) – Victor Rask ($4200) – Elias Lindholm ($3900)

While I don’t usually target the Carolina offense this game presents some opportunity as the Avalanche are near the bottom of the league in both shots allowed and goals allowed per game. While this trio hasn’t exactly been lighting it up recently they still get a lot of softer ice time, especially with Jordan Staal’s line often being matched up with the opponent’s top players. Given the savings you get with these three targeting a couple or all three in a tournament might be a good idea as they all appear on the Canes top PP unit as well. I won’t be shocked if they break out tonight.

Contrarian Pick

Henrik Sedin ($4500) – Daniel Sedin ($6400) – Radim Vrbata ($5700)

The Canucks forwards are another team I don’t usually target but they also have a nice matchup and their top line of the Sedins and Vrbata have been heating up a bit of late. This line has 6 points in their last three games and gets the Coyotes, who after a strong start, have started to regress and now also are near the bottom of the league in shots and goals against. Don’t be fooled by the Coyotes, who took down a few big teams in their first few games, this is still a great team to target for fantasy and I love this trio who could go off tonight in a great matchup.
