This article will identify the best line-stacking combos to use for fantasy hockey purposes every night. Considering that at least one player on a forward line will often get an assist on a goal when his line mate scores, stacking players from the same line can prove very fruitful for fantasy purposes. Use these targets to help identify some of your best options every night.

Top Stacks

Florida Panthers (vs. Toronto Maple Leafs)

march 17 jagr line stacks

A lot of people may see the recent hot streak Toronto Maple Leafs netminder Jonathan Bernier has been on and fade this matchup but there’s nothing to suggest that Bernier is a lock to keep up his recent hot stretch or that the gifted Panthers forwards can’t overcome it. With Jonathan Huberdeau back from injury the top line for Florida is back at full strength and has been rolling lately. In five games since Huberdeau returned the line has amassed 19 points between them and stud centre Alex Barkov has goals in three straight games. Huberdeau really is the straw that stirs the drink so to speak for the Panthers top line and his playmaking abilities have seen a return to dominance for this trio. Against Toronto I see no reason to think this line will stop rolling and would suggest you don’t worry too much about the Leafs recent victories. I’d roll out this stack with confidence tonight

Value Trios

Detroit Red Wings (vs. Columbus Blue Jackets)

Pavel Datsyuk ($6200) – Anthony Mantha ($2500) – Tomas Tatar ($4900)

With the Columbus Blue Jackets almost always being a great target for fantasy purposes I see no reason not to like this cheap line on Detroit which played big minutes in their last game. AHL call up Anthony Mantha has shown skill in the minors all year and playing alongside Pavel Datsyuk he provides a potentially cheap source of fantasy production for only $2500. Datsyuk hasn’t put up huge points this season but fantasy wise you’re getting production from him in other categories as he’s up to 21 SOG in his last four games. This trio played the most of any Detroit line at even strength last game and also played together on the PP. Against Columbus, who still sits second last in the league in goals against, I like targeting these three as a cheap stack and think they offer nice upside at a really low price.

Contrarian Pick

L.A Kings (vs. New York Rangers)

Anze Kopitar ($6500) – Milan Lucic ($4800) – Kris Versteeg ($3700)

There’s certain situations where it’s sometimes just best not to worry about the matchups and tonight, with this line, they definitely merit consideration regardless of who they’re facing in net. All three of these players have been great over the past week or so and veteran Kris Versteeg has thrived since getting to play with two of the Kings more offensive minded players. Versteeg has two goals in two straight games since being put on this line and his line mate Milan Lucic (who has been playing great for some time now) is working on a seven game point scoring streak himself. While Henrik Lindqvist is no pushover in net the Kings have been rolling of late and are coming off back to back blowout wins over Chicago and Dallas. I think LA, and this line, can keep up the momentum tonight at home and would not hesitate to target this trio in tournaments, they should be low owned.
