This article will identify the best line-stacking combos to use for fantasy hockey purposes every night. Considering that at least one player on a forward line will often get an assist on a goal when his line mate scores, stacking players from the same line can prove very fruitful for fantasy purposes. Use these targets to help identify some of your best options every night.
High Priced First lines
Aleksander Barkov ($5700) – Jonathan Huberdeau ($5300) – Jaromir Jagr ($5700)
This line has been humming along recently and gets a nice matchup tonight versus the Ottawa Senators. The Panthers have a ton of really young, skilled forwards and Alexander Barkov has been consistently one of their best all year. He and Jonathan Huberdeau alone have 13 combined points in their last 5 games and have also sparked the production of ageless wonder Jaromir Jagr who has 3 goals in his last two games as well. This line plays a ton together, including on the Power-play where they’ll face the third worst penalty kill in the league tonight in the Sens. The Sens have been poor defensively all year and are also last in the league in shots against. This is a monster matchup for a line who has really been gelling lately. They’re my favorite play of the night.

Bryan Little ($5600) – Blake Wheeler ($6800) – Drew Stafford ($4600)
The Jets have shaken up their top 6 a little bit moving the one-dimensional, offensive minded, Drew Stafford onto the top line with Little and Wheeler and moving Andrew Ladd down a notch to provide depth to their second line. The move has really paid off for Stafford who now has three goals and five points in his last 5 games. This line isn’t super cheap but the savings you get now with Stafford make them good value as a trio and they get the struggling Dallas Stars tonight who have lost three in a row and let in 6 goals in each of their last two games. Dallas has improved a lot as a team this year but still rank in the middle of the pack in most defensive categories. I like this game a ton for fantasy and think targeting the hot scoring of this newly formed Jets line makes a ton of sense tonight. They’re in a good spot to get points against a defensively reeling Stars squad.
Sean Monahan ($5500) – Johnny Gaudreau ($6700) – Joe Colborne ($3400)
The matchup here points to a big night for the Flames but expect this trio to be under owned due to the recent poor play of this line. Sean Monahan has been going through the Sophomore slump recently going four games without a point and only recording 5 SOG in that span as well. Johnny Gaudreau has similarly gone pointless in four straight, but is at least still getting the puck to the net a few times a night. Still, despite their struggles this line remains the main offensive unit for the Flames and will continue to get their chances unless a trade occurs. The Coyotes are still at or near the bottom in most defensive categories this season and rank 7th worst as a team killing penalties. This line has been on the ice together for the most part in that situation and should have good correlation potential if one of them connects for a goal tonight. I like the matchup and think this struggling trio offers good upside and low ownership for tournaments.
