Eight NHL games are on tap tonight with some great line stacks and duos which means that DFS DK players will have a fully-stocked player pool for tonight’s slate of hockey action. Here are some of the best superstar and value buys on the Line Stack front:
Patrick Kane ($9,000) – Artemi Panarin ($6,100) – Artem Anisimov ($4,800)
My top line of the evening from today’s Cheat Sheet the Hawks second line continues to be one of the top producing lines in the league, and of course that is always helped by the fact that it has the leading scorer in the NHL. Kane just continues to be the best player in the league and has pushed his lead in the scoring race to nine over Jamie Benn with 62 points. He has 14 points in his last 10 games and is coming off a two goal, six shot game against Colorado on Sunday night. Panarin has points in five of his last seven games and three of those games have been multi-point outings. He managed an assist on one of Kane’s goals against the Avs. Anisimov is tied for third on the Hawks with 15 goals on the season and despite only having 24 points on the year he has five points in his last seven games. He picked up a power-play assist on Kane’s second goal against Colorado on Sunday and has been picking up his offensive game as of late. This is a dynamic line that is difficult to keep from the scoresheet thanks to Kane and they have a matchup against the Predators who have been battling their struggles over the past month.
Evgeni Malkin ($7,600) – Phil Kessel ($6,700) – Patric Hornqvist ($6,000)
Even with Sidney Crosby coming back to his normal ways, the Penguins second line has been producing more consistently than their first line so they get the nod here tonight for their matchup with the Hurricanes. This line hooked up for the Penguins first goal over the weekend in their 3-1 win over the Canadiens when Hornqvist netted his ninth tally of the season with Kessel and Malking picking up the helpers. Hornqvist is beginning to pick up his offensive game as of late with seven points in his last 10 games after only putting up 10 points in his first 31 contests. Malkin continues to be the Penguins best offensive player at the moment leading the team with 19 goals and 39 points and he has managed at least a point in five of his last six. Kessel is now up to 24 points on the season thanks to points in his last two games and he has a point in four of his last five. This is not a line that we expected to see going into the season but Kessel and Malkin have found a very good chemistry.
Nathan MacKinnon ($7,100) – Matt Duchene ($6,500) – Alex Tanguay ($3,400)
MacKinnon and Duchene have been fantastic since they were put together earlier in the season and the argument can be made that the Avs would not be where they are had Patrick Roy not put this combo together. They have produced with or without Gabriel Landeskog and now have Tanguay with them on the Avalanche top line. MacKinnon and Duchene both have nine points in their last 10 games. MacKinnon has points in three straight games and is coming off a multi-point game against the Blackhawks on Sunday. Duchene has points in five of his last seven games and three of those games have been multi-point games. The two are tied for the team lead with 37 points with Duchene leading the team with 21 goals and Mack leading with 22 assists. Tanguay has bounced around the lineup for Colorado this season but has settled on the top line for the moment. He broke a four-game pointless streak on Sunday against the Hawks with an assist on Duchene’s second goal in the second period.
John Tavares ($7,700) – Anders Lee ($4,700) – Josh Bailey ($3,900)
Some might see this pick as a stretch but this line is due for a big game and with as banged up as the Blue Jackets are, in a divisional game that the Islanders desperately need points in, Tavares and Co should come out motivated to put up some points. Tavares has been having a rough go of it this year and is currently riding a three-game scoreless streak. However he has 10 SOG in his last three games and always plays well against Columbus with 14 points in 12 career matchups with the Blue Jackets. After his best game of the season with a goal, assist and nine shots on goal against the Stars Lee has been held off the scoresheet his last two but he did the majority of his scoring last season on Tavares’ wing and he has looked good since being moved back there recently. Bailey has bounced around the Islanders lineup from the first line all the way down to the third, but he saw time with Tavares earlier this season and last year in the playoffs and brings great vision and defense to this line. With a little bump in production he could be on pace to set new career highs in all three offensive categories and that could come when Tavares eventually turns his game around.
Martin Hanzal ($4,200) – Tobias Rieder ($4,400) – Anthony Duclair ($3,800)
The Coyotes are one of the hottest teams in the league at the moment and are riding a three game win streak and a 7-1-2 record in their last 10 with this line helping to power that run. Rieder is in the middle of a breakout sophomore season with 26 points in 41 games after a 21-point, 72 game campaign last season as a rookie. He’s coming off a three-point game against the Predators over the weekend and sits fourth on the team in scoring at the moment and has found a good chemistry with his current linemates. Hanzal had a great start to his season and unfortunately due to injury has tailed off a bit. However, in the games that he has played his production has been there with 22 points in 28 games. He only has four points in his last 10 games that he has played but he added an assist on one of Rieder’s markers against Nashville. Duclair has had his struggles in his first full, pro season but at no point has he looked out of place. Part of his struggles could be attributed to being moved around the lineup to different lines but he has still managed 23 points in 40 games. He has added four points in his last four games (2G, 2A) and in three career games against the Oilers he has a goal and two SOG. This line has been a major contributor for the Coyotes on their recent run and will have a great chance to produce tonight against the Oilers.
