This article will identify the best line-stacking combos to use for fantasy hockey purposes every night. Considering that at least one player on a forward line will often get an assist on a goal when his line mate scores, stacking players from the same line can prove very fruitful for fantasy purposes. Use these targets to help identify some of your best options ever night.

High Priced First lines

Joe Pavelski ($7800) – Joe Thornton ($5400) – Thomas Hertl ($4600)

The Sharks get a really nice matchup tonight against the Coyotes who have been struggling at keeping the puck of their own net lately. Coming off a game last night I’d also expect the Yotes to be a little fatigued tonight, and expect the Sharks big players to take advantage. Joe Thornton has been amazing the last couple of weeks and has six points and four power-play points in his last four games. With the Sharks power-play clicking overall, and the Coyotes having one of the worst penalty-kills in the league, I could see the duo of Pavelski and Thornton combing for a big night and also like the potential for Thomas Hertl here as he generally plays on the second power-play unit. Overall, I think this Sharks trio makes for a great stack with plenty of upside and might be a little overlooked since they’re playing in the late game.

Value Trios

Brandon Dubinsky ($4600) – Boone Jenner ($4900) – Cam Atkinson ($4700)

This pick is mostly a matchup based selection. The Senators have been one of the best targets for fantasy purposes over the last couple of months are currently sporting the worst penalty-kill in the league. This line is pretty streaky but all three members will be featured on the power-play a ton in this game and all three have posted huge fantasy games at some points this season. Cam Atkinson has been a great source of goals recently (18 on the year) and has posted five or more fantasy points on DK in four of his last seven games. While Dubinsky and Jenner have been fairly quiet of late this matchup is a great place for them to break out and at the very least I’d expect Jenner to have a high SOG total, as he has 14 SOG in his last four games. Target them if you need a really cheap, and potentially explosive stack tonight.

Contrarian Pick

Vincent Trochek ($5000) – Reilly Smith ($4900) – Jussi Jokinen ($5300)

As mentioned in the NHL Cheat Sheet the Panthers have a surprisingly good matchup tonight with the Nashville Predators, who have been receiving some sub-par goaltending in 2016. This line has been exceeding expectations for the Panthers all year and really benefitting from getting matched-up against other team’s weaker lines, rather than their main checking lines. All three of these players have 34 points or more on the season and as a unit have been seeing a lot of power-play time too as the Panthers have been pretty balanced with the ice time of their top two lines. With Alex Barkov likely out tonight I could see the Panthers giving this line a little more use and with a good matchup against a bottom 10 penalty-killing unit, a big night seems possible. If I was looking for a lower priced, lower owned stack—that has a nice matchup and real upside—I’d target this trio tonight.
