This article will identify the best line-stacking combos to use for fantasy hockey purposes every night. Considering that at least one player on a forward line will often get an assist on a goal when his line mate scores, stacking players from the same line can prove very fruitful for fantasy purposes. Use these targets to help identify some of your best options every night.
High Priced First lines
Mikael Granlund ($4200) – Zach Parise ($7600) – Jason Pominville ($5000)
The Wild are finally getting healthy and seeing some production from their top line. Zach Parise’s return looks to have sparked his line mates as Jason Pominville is now riding a two game goal streak (after a long scoreless drought) and centre Mikael Granlund now has three assists in his last 2 games as well. The Leafs have given up 4+ goals in three of their last four games and even though they should have starter James Reimer back in net tonight he’ll be rusty after an injury layoff. The Leafs still struggle on a nightly basis defensively and are giving up the 6th most shots per game in the entire league. I like targeting the Wild’s top scoring line tonight and think they’ll even be a little overlooked as fantasy players forget how good Parise and co. can be when healthy.
Others: Also check out the Dallas trio of Tyler Seguin/Jamie Benn/Patrick Sharp who have been murdering teams most nights and will look to get back on track after a slow game versus Calgary.
Mike Cammalleri ($5300) – Adam Henrique ($5000) – Lee Stempniak ($3800)
I’ve been super impressed with the way the Devils have played all year given the fact that no one really expected their team to do much. The Devils are by no means a high powered offensive squad but when they do score it’s almost always a result of work done by their top line-Cammalleri/Henrique/Stempniak. As a line this trio is tied for fourth in terms of goals scored by a specific line in the NHL this year and these three have also been responsible for over 40% of the point production for the entire Devils team in 2015. Carolina has been awful of late and is now third last in the league in penalty killing. This trio will see a ton of ice on the PP tonight and is in a great spot for a big game here. If you need a value stack to pair with your high priced players look no further.
Henrik Sedin ($4900) – Daniel Sedin ($6800) – Radim Vrbata ($5500)
A lot of people will undoubtedly be targeting the Dallas Stars top line in the game between the Stars and Canucks tonight but there’s good reasons for targeting the Canucks top line too. As we saw in their last game versus Calgary, where they blew a 3 goal lead, Dallas has trouble shutting teams down defensively and often get themselves into pond-hockey, back and forth style shootouts. While Dallas has been better this year at limiting other teams scoring chances they’re still only average in terms of goals against and shots against stats for the season. The Canucks top line has been playing very well of late and I’d expect this trio to be able to take advantage of this matchup in what could be a high scoring game. I like the Sedin line tonight as a tournament target.
