This article will identify the best line-stacking combos to use for fantasy hockey purposes every night. Considering that at least one player on a forward line will often get an assist on a goal when his line mate scores, stacking players from the same line can prove very fruitful for fantasy purposes. Use these targets to help identify some of your best options every night.

High Priced First lines

Nicklas Backstrom ($6400) – Alex Ovechkin ($8800) – T.J. Oshie ($5800)

The Capitals top line hasn’t been the most consistent line for fantasy lately but I really like this spot for them to get back on track and post a big night. The Tampa Bay Lightning have been extremely inconsistent this year are also battling through numerous injuries at the moment to some top players. Meanwhile the Capitals power play is one of the best in the league at the moment and will get to face off against a Tampa penalty kill who has been ranked in the bottom ten of the league all season. While the price tag on this trio is high they should be slightly lower owned than usual due to their recent cold streak. I’d make them a target tonight as the trio plays together in almost every situation and makes for a great line stack.

Value Trios

Brandon Pirri ($4300) – Vincent Trocheck ($3700) – Reilly Smith ($4100)

The Florida Panthers have been scoring a ton lately and the main source of offense has been their second line. The young trio has been ridiculously hot scoring 16 points between them in their last 3 games. Since they almost always play as a unit, both at even strength and on the PP, you can expect a ton of correlation from them if they do get on the scoresheet in this game. Tonight they have a great matchup versus the Carolina Hurricanes who have been scoring a ton themselves lately but also let in a ton of goals too. The Canes are also vulnerable against good Power Plays as well and currently sport the second worst penalty kill in the league. Get some exposure to this trio if you want a cheap stack tonight as they should continue to get lots of ice time both at even strength and with the man-advantage.

Contrarian Pick

Henrik Zetterberg ($6100) – Justin Abdelkader ($4800) – Dylan Larkin ($5400)

The Red Wings as a team haven’t been scoring much lately and this line only has a measly 4 points between them in their last 4 games. Still, I really like targeting skaters against the Vancouver Canucks right now as they have been in a downward spiral for some time and are a great target for fantasy. The Wings top line all see time on the power player and the young Dylan Larkin has proven he’s not afraid to fire the puck at the net (and been a great source of SOG all season). While they haven’t been the most consistent bunch lately I really like this spot for a breakout and think they make for a great tournament stack tonight since most people will be looking elsewhere for their stacks. Roster the if looking for a lower owned trio to set your lineup apart.
