We have a nice way to make some decent money in a GPP for tonight.
The news is coming in as always but there will be updates on Twitter because of the short Monday slate…just watch out for the damn flu!
Those evil Devils are riding a four game winning streak while hitting the under or pushing like a bat out of hell. Michael Cammalleri now has six goals in his last ten games and is shooting a crazy 22% on the season. That is a full ten percent above his career average (although there were stretches where he could shoot 15-18% for a long while). Jaromir Jagr has drifted into bottom six ice time with around 12-13 minutes a night lately. Travis Zajac has only 18 points on the season and roofed a wide open break just two feet from Mike Smith on Monday. That is how bad it has been. The Calgary Flames come in trying to hold down the second wild card position with teams surrounding them all over. Jonas Hiller should get the start but this team is butter with a pretty strong top four on defense that can rack up points and the duo of Jiri Hudler and Johnny Gaudreau. New Jersey had trouble with them and Sean Monahan the last time they played (in Calgary). The pace should be a little more deliberate with the Devils having the last line change. At least that will be New Jersey’s plan going into this tilt. It should be a lot of fun to see which style wins out. The puck line might be a play along with Hudler or Monahan.
Money Line: Devils -130, O/U 5

- Mark Giordano, D, Flames ($6600)
- Adam Henrique, C, Devils ($4400)

Penguins @ Capitals
Bookies are expecting another relatively low scoring game from this tilt and who could blame them. The key in this game will be Pittsburgh trying to stop Alex Ovechkin who has 22 DraftKings points (3 G 1 A) in three meetings against Pittsburgh this year. Meanwhile, Sidney Crosby has been a disaster with no points in the three games and has been a -5 to top that off. Evgeni Malkin has been better but only marginally because he has only played in two of the clashes. Braden Holtby has stolen the show in these games and is a better start and $600 less than Marc-Andre Fleury. Although you never know. Holtby has allowed 1 goal on 91 shots against Pittsburgh this season (.989 save percentage). If Pittsburgh is going to make a game of this, they must get Malkin and/or Crosby involved plus rattle Holtby in any way they can. If they cannot, this is going to be just another win for Washington. The Caps usually get secondary scoring in these games as well from either Eric Fehr, Troy Brouwer, or Joel Ward. One may want to also stay away from John Carlson at $8200 and go cheaper with Mike Green. It is just that kind of night where if you go big, you have to save somewhere.
Line: Caps -125 . O/U 5
Players to Watch
- Kris Letang, D, Pens ($7000)
- Sidney Crosby, C, Pens ($8800)
- Alex Ovechkin, LW, Caps ($9300)
- Braden Holtby, G, Caps ($8500)
Senators @ Ducks
Short slates have tough pricing and DFS’ers just have to stomach it. Yes some of the price fluctuations can be confusing and bordering on crazy but hey everyone has to play it the same way. Anaheim’s power play needs a spark. Typically you expect Ryan Getzlaf to be closer to 20 power play points by now and he only has 12. Corey Perry has only seven by the way but Sami Vatanen has 17 power play points. Vatanen is out due to injury and the man advantage has been an interesting exercise in futility mostly. Enter the Ottawa Senators with a questionable goaltending situation as both Robin Lehner and Craig Anderson mend from injuries. Oddly enough, Ottawa has been playing better with Andrew Hammond in net. Check confirmations as Anderson could play though it does not seem that likely. The Senators are one team that can give Anaheim fits with their speed but with that speed comes a price. The counters from Anaheim and their team depth can shine through. Who will start in Anaheim is also a question. This has the makings of being a high event game with possibly a high score as well. Bobby Ryan likes to play his former team and could net a few points here but so could Getzlaf and Perry, even if they are not on the same line still. Even watch the line combinations for this tilt beforehand. That will give a helping hand.
Line: Ducks-200 . O/U 5.5

- Bobby Ryan, RW, Senators ($7100)
