The NHL Game Breakdown keeps on keeping on here on DraftKings. We take an in-depth look at all of the games on the schedule each day in terms of expected pace of play, Vegas lines, and defense vs. position match ups. Monday features just two games as the NHL gets back to more of its normal schedule. This might be a time to take advantage of a few opportunities to make a little money while less people play.

We have a nice way to make some decent money in a GPP for tonight.
The news is coming in as always but there will be updates on Twitter because of the light nature of Monday’s slate. Our reasoning is to give you, the reader, the latest information as it happens. Just follow @ChrisWasselDFS and we will have you covered.
Coyotes @ Devils
This one could be really ugly. Then again, it is New Jersey. Every one of their games is pretty much considered ugly unless some unusual things happen. The last two games featured three goals scored in a row by the Devils. That is rare and I mean once every year and change type of rare. Cory Schneider is one of the best goalies in the NHL but no one notices him because New Jersey musters so little offense in support of him. There have been many articles done on why that is but the talent is just not quite there. Adam Henrique leads the team with 31 points and that is just a little over a point every other game. Ouch! Guys like Travis Zajac have been pretty much horrendous with 18 points in 51 games and wingers who just have not been consistent enough. Patrik Elias does have 12 points in his last 18 games. That is something, I guess. Arizona is not much better, short of their power play. Keith Yandle and Oliver Ekman-Larsson spearhead the attack. Do not look at their +/- because honestly the team and team defense is abysmal. The key is they do get power play points and the OEL has 17 goals on the year already while Yandle has a whopping 36 assists. Mike Smith has come back down to Earth with three straight games at a sub .900 save percentage. All that being said, for as bad as the Coyotes are at generating defensive stops, they are the type of team with some speed that could give New Jersey fits.

Red Wings @ Ducks
These teams are going to be in some war. Now keep an eye on Anaheim with Frederik Andersen really close, John Gibson is the probable at least right now. Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaf are still broken up for now as well. Anaheim is trying to spread out the offense and so far it is working pretty well. All of a sudden Anaheim has stalled a good bit overall and their home totals are a bit lower than their road totals. 2.77 goals for per and 2.63 goals allowed. The road numbers are bumped up by about a tenth of a goal or two. Detroit has become more dynamic and now scores 2.75 goals per game on the road and gives up the same. That 7-6 win over Dallas helped a little as the Red Wings scored four times in the third period before winning early in overtime. Jakub Kindl of all people had two goals and Pavel Datsyuk had a huge two goal, two assist night. Henrik Zetterberg is likely out for this game but we will keep an eye on it anyway. Jimmy Howard will start but wow has he looked up and down since coming back from that groin injury. It makes you wonder honestly. The opposition rankings are all white or red in this one which kind of indicates a lower scoring kind of game but we will see. There are going to be a few surprises from this tilt.
