Top Lines of the Night

Pittsburgh Penguins @ Calgary Flames

Sidney Crosby ($8,200) – Conor Sheary ($6,300) – Jake Guentzel ($4,800)

This line had a great outing in their last game on Saturday against the Canucks with each member notching a multi-point game. Sid the Kid collected a pair of assists and fired off nine shots on goal (SOG), giving him 72 on the season. He has five points and 26 SOG in his last five games. Sheary has points in three of his last four games, and all three have been multi-point games. He has two goals, four assists and 15 SOG. I think Guentzel is a great value play and he has goals in three of his last four games. He had a goal and an assist over the weekend and has fired 15 SOG over his last four games as well.

Nashville Predators vs Winnipeg Jets

Filip Forsberg ($6,600) – Ryan Johansen ($5,700) – Viktor Arvidsson ($6,200)

I think this line is a great play tonight against the Jets. Forsberg has been shutout in his last two games despite putting up five SOG but he had 11 goals and 15 points in his eight games before that. Johansen netted a goal on Saturday in the Preds’ victory over the Sharks, and he has 12 points in his last 10 games. Arvidsson netted his 24th goal of the season on Saturday as well, giving him six goals in his last 10 games. This trio has combined for 90 points in 34 home games this season, and Winnipeg is allowing the sixth-most goals on the road this season.

Superstar to Build Around

Vladimir Tarasenko ($7,200) – Tarasenko goes into tonight’s game against the Kings riding a three-game scoring streak, netting at least one goal in each of his last three games. He has back-to-back multi-point games and he’s coming off a two-goal game against the Islanders on Saturday. He notched a power play (PP) goal in that game and has 14 SOG on this three-game run.

Value on Offense

Sam Gagner ($4,300) – Gagner is on pace for a career-high right now and has 43 points in 66 games this season. Gags enters tonight’s game against the Flyers riding a five-game point streak with three goals, four assists, two power play points (PPP) and 11 SOG. He is doing all this in largely a third-line role and seeing time on the second PP unit.

Max Domi ($4,500) – Domi has been on a tear since he returned from his injury, picking up points in 11 of his last 16 games. Domi has scored in seven of his last 10 games overall (eight points) and has a great matchup tonight against Colorado. In two games vs the Avs this season Domi has four points, one PPP and seven SOG.

Stud Goalies

USATSI_9932363_168381090_lowres

Sergei Bobrovsky ($8,200) – Bob had his shutout streak snapped over the weekend against the Sabres, but picked up the win to push his winning streak to four games. He’s run his record in his last 10 games to 7-2-1 with a 1.50 goals against average (GAA). He gets the nod tonight against the Flyers, having already beaten Philly in his only game against them this season.

Tuukka Rask ($7,700) – Rask has posted back-to-back strong outings for the Bruins, winning each of his last two starts and allowing only two goals against in total. He allowed one goal to Detroit and followed that up with a one-goal outing against Philly. He’s 7-3-0 with a 1.90 GAA in his last 10 games and faces the Canucks tonight, who have lost three games in a row.

Value on Defense

Josh Morrissey ($2,400) – This is a deep value pick tonight, but it’s hard to pass on a price like this. Morrissey isn’t much offensively, with just 17 points in 69 games, and he only has three points in his last 10. However, he is skating on the Jets’ second defense pairing and is averaging 2.5 FPTS per game over his last 10 games, garnering decent blocks and SOG totals.

Alec Martinez ($4,400) – Martinez comes into tonight on a four-game point streak, with two multi-point outings in that span. He has a goal and five assists in the four games and is getting great peripheral coverage with three special teams points, eight blocks and eight SOG. He enters tonight averaging 3.1 FPTS per game this season.

Power Play Defensemen

Victor Hedman ($6,600) – Hedman has points in eight of his last 10 games and comes into tonight’s matchup with the Rangers with PPPs in his last two games. He has 11 points and seven PPP in his last 10 games, adding 14 blocks and 25 SOG in the process. Hedman and the Lightning get the Rangers on the second night of a tough back-to-back.

Justin Faulk ($5,800) – Faulk has been good against the Islanders this year and comes into tonight heating up. He’s on a three-game point streak, has a PP assist in two-straight games and has three points in two games against the Isles this season. The Canes get Isles’ backup Jean-François Berube tonight in net, before facing the Isles in Carolina tomorrow night.
