Tom Brady
, NE @ MIN, $7,000 – Brady has fallen all the way down to 16th on the QB salary list, dropping 5 spots from his Week 1 ranking. Derek Anderson is priced only $600 cheaper. Brady had previously won his last 10 opening day games entering last week’s 2nd half collapse to Miami. Having just lost perennial Pro Bowl offensive lineman Logan Mankins via trade to the Buccanneers, growing pains in front of Brady should be expected. On the flip side, they are significantly ahead of where they were last year in terms of the skill positions. Rob Gronkowski is nearing full strength, WRs Aaron Dobson, Kenbrell Thompkins, and Danny Amendola are entering their second years in the system, and Julian Edelman is embarking on another quest for 100 catches. There is value to be had here, especially against a Minnesota team that is still struggling to find its identity.

Sammy Watkins
, MIA @ BUF, $3,600 – The Bills traded up to select Watkins with the 4th overall pick, yet there are 5 rookie wideouts priced higher than him. The questions about EJ Manuel’s ability are valid, but there are other rookie WRs with similar QB situations ranked higher. Watkins posted a Week 1 stat line of 3 catches and 31 yards, which is nothing particularly exciting. But in his first NFL game he did play 54 of 57 snaps, and Buffalo didn’t give away their immediate future to not utilize him. Although he didn’t make the statistical Week 1 splash of other rookie receivers Kelvin Benjamin, Allen Hurns, and Brandin Cooks, he has become greatly undervalued for his talent. In Sammy’s first game at home in Buffalo he’s worth a flier, especially if you are looking to spend elsewhere.

Dwayne Allen
, PHI @ IND, $4,100 – A year removed from a season-ending hip injury, Allen shined on Sunday Night Football notching a TD to go with his 64 yards and 5 targets. With Andrew Luck at the center of the Colts offense, any tight end with athleticism could thrive. Counterpart Coby Fleener has battled inconsistencies in his young career, which was evident again in his 3 catches for 31 yards on 8 targets. Fleener’s continued drops and limitations as a blocker will likely thrust Allen into a primary TE role very soon. This idea seems to be gaining momentum as he has ascended from being the 22nd ranked TE in Week 1 to 8th overall this week. He is still very much a value at home this weekend.

Dwayne Bowe
, KC @ DEN, $4,500 – Week 1 exposed the fact that the Chiefs do not have a number one wide receiver outside of Bowe. Kansas City struggled to muster up much offense last week in Arrowhead, as Bowe sat out due to a weeklong suspension for substance abuse. Without Bowe, Jamaal Charles only managed 34 total yards while newly paid franchise QB Alex Smith barely threw for 200 yards. Entering a Week 2 matchup in Denver, its fair to assume the Chiefs will be playing from behind and will need to air it out on Sunday. This could lead to a big day for Bowe who is a cheap play at 44th on the WR salary list.

Darren Sproles
, PHI @ IND, $5,100 – Sproles was a tough player to predict in Week 1 for fantasy decisions, given his recent implementation into Chip Kelly’s offense. Like a rookie, he has a limited sample size to pull from with his new team, but he burst onto the scene in Week 1. Down 17-0 in the 3rd quarter, Sproles scampered 49 yards to put the Eagles on the board, triggering 34 unanswered points and a comeback victory. He finished the day with 71 yards on 11 carries, which is the most carries he had in a single game in almost three years. Although RB Chris Polk was inactive, Sproles’ first game in Philadelphia seems to indicate lots of touches and production in 2014. On the turf in Indianapolis he is a scary piece of this fast-paced Eagles offense that shouldn’t be overlooked.
