The MILLION DOLLAR winner in DraftKings’ Millionaire Maker contest this Sunday will almost certainly have a top 3 scoring D/ST on their roster. Too bad the Green Bay Packers were not eligible to draft for the contest, as they scored 22 points in an embarrassing blowout over the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday Night Football.

Will you become a millionaire this weekend? Let’s take a look at some Week 5 options at D/ST that will make or break your chances. Also included is each teams’ primary punt and kick returner, based on 2014 attempts.

Turn $27 into $1 MILLION in DraftKings’ Millionaire Maker contest this Sunday!

$4,200 – Seahawks (@ WAS ) – Seattle has had an extra week to prepare for Kirk Cousins so they should be ready to exploit him like the Giants did last week, forcing a season high 6 turnovers. This is a pivotal week for the 1-3 Redskins as they look to remain competitive in the NFC East, but the Seahawks may not let that happen. There’s a lot of pressure on Cousins in this one. Unfortunately this game is on the road for Seattle, but they should still put on a solid fantasy performance.
Punt Returner = Bryan Walters, WR
Kick Returner =
Percy Harvin, WR

$3,800 – Lions (vs. BUF) – Highlighted by a Week 3 performance where they held the high powered Green Bay offense to just 7 points, the Lions have been a solid fantasy defense this season. Detroit has registered 10 sacks by 8 different players. Detroit returns home to face Buffalo, who benched alleged franchise QB EJ Manuel in favor of veteran Kyle Orton. Orton’s last regular season game action came with the Cowboys on December 29th, 2013 against the Eagles where he chucked it 46 times for 358 yards, 2 scores and 2 picks. He certainly has the ability to play in this league, but throwing to Jason Witten and Dez Bryant behind a solid offensive line is a lot different than what he has with the Bills. The Lions appear well worth their price tag this week.

$3,500 – Steelers (@ JAX) – The Steelers defense has been mediocre, allowing 24.8 PPG to average offensive opponents (CLE, BAL, CAR, & TB). They have hovered around 5 fantasy points per game which is respectable, but it hasn’t been enough to move the needle in a fantasy matchup. They’re certainly due for a big scoring game, and what better opportunity can a team have than playing the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jags have allowed an NFL worst 20 sacks (seriously, 5 per game). We’ll find out exactly who the Steelers are defensively after this game. Also, WR Antonio Brown is as dangerous as they come returning punts. With 7 returns for 76 yards on the year, he is just itching to break free and take one to the house and he should have plenty of opportunity against Jacksonville.
Punt Returner = Antonio Brown, WR
Kick Returner =
Dri Archer, RB

$3,300 – Eagles (vs. STL) – Despite their modest salary last week ($2,800), the Eagles were not heavily drafted because of their difficult matchup on the road against San Francisco. They lost 26-21 but scored a near season D/ST fantasy high 26 points thanks to 3 defensive/special teams touchdowns and 4 sacks. Getting to elusive QB Colin Kaepernick is not easy, so to do it 4 times is flat out impressive. This week the Eagles have a much different test against the Rams and surprising QB Austin Davis, who is starting in the place of injured Sam Bradford. Last week Davis enjoyed a 98.0 QB rating against Dallas, throwing for 327 yards and 3 TDs in a loss. Is he the real deal? Or will the Eagles D/ST continue to make big plays?
Punt Returner = Darren Sproles, RB
Kick Returner =
Chris Polk, RB

$3,100 – Chargers (vs. NYJ) – The Chargers have been arguably the most steady high performing D/ST through 4 weeks, turning in 3 games with 9 or more fantasy points. They have an appetizing matchup at home against the Jets who might be trending towards AFC East brother Buffalo with a tough decision to make at quarterback. Geno Smith is supposed to be the franchise QB, but if he continues to play poorly, the Jets may look to turn their season around with Michael Vick. Point is, there is an awful lot of pressure on Geno and I’m not confident he can handle it. The Chargers are a strong affordable play this week.
Punt Returner = Eddie Royal, WR
Kick Returner =
Branden Oliver, RB

$2,600 – Broncos (vs. ARI) – If you look closely, the Broncos have gone from a price of $2,800 @ Seattle before the bye (and scored 9 fantasy points) to $2,600 in their return home against Arizona this week. That $200 may not seem like a lot, but they have a better matchup, with an extra week to prepare, and are playing at home. That seems like a recipe for success at this modest price. Led by Aqib Talib, T.J. Ward, DeMarcus Ware, and Von Miller, the Broncos are a dangerous team, capable of putting up points on both sides of the ball any given week.
Punt Returner = Isaiah Burse, WR
Kick Returner =
Andre Caldwell, WR
