Being an NFL player certainly has its perks: the money, the fame, the accolades… the cars.

While Pittsburgh Steelers’ wide receiver Antonio Brown might be the NFL’s best receiver and a fantasy football favorite, that hasn’t stopped New York Jets’ wide receiver Brandon Marshall from already starting a friendly wager before the season gets underway.

Marshall posted this video on his Instagram account yesterday challenging Brown to a battle over luxury cars depending on their production this upcoming season. Whichever player ends up having the better season will win a car from the other: for Brown, Marshall will purchase a Porsche, whereas Brown will have to give Marshall his Rolls Royce if he fails to have a better season.

@ab I've never seen you back down from a challenge. #race4pinks

Marshall enjoyed the best season of his career last year – 14 touchdowns on 1,502 receiving yards – and he couldn’t have timed the video more perfectly, as the Jets just so happened to sign his quarterback, Ryan Fitzpatrick, to a new contract. Coincidence that Marshall waited til Fitz signed to make this bet? I think not.

Nonetheless, this could be a daunting task as Brown has increased his production in total receiving yards by nearly 200+ yards in each of the last three seasons. Even more impressive? Despite Ben Roethlisberger missing four games last season, AB still hauled in 10 touchdowns on 1,834 receiving yards. Brown has yet to accept Marshall’s challenge.

If fantasy production indicates anything, we should expect strong seasons from these two dynamic receivers once again. Marshall totaled 371.20 FPTS last season, averaging 23.2 FPPG, whereas Brown totaled 417.20 FPTS last season, averaging 26.1 FPPG. That being said, you might want to consider these guys even more on Sundays this season, especially since now we know they are playing for something more than just winning football games…

May the best receiver win!
