According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Howard will suit up for Los Angeles for the first time since 2013 this upcoming season. The report states that Howard has completed his buyout with the Grizzlies and will sign with the Lakers once he clears waivers. Los Angeles had also apparently been looking at Mo Speights, Joakim Noah and Marcin Gortat as possible replacements for the recently injured DeMarcus Cousins. Howard is more well known at this point in his career for his off the court exploits than his on-court production. However, he did average 12.8 points and 9.2 rebounds over nine games in Washington in 2018-19. The Lakers need him to play minutes, so he'll be fantasy viable.
Dwight Howard’s agent, Charles Briscoe of Briscoe Sports Group, has completed buyout with Grizzlies officials, and Howard will sign with the Lakers once he clears waivers, sources tell @TheAthleticNBA@Stadium.
