It’s Sunday Funday Gamers! Let’s get to the targets, as we head down the home stretch with our NBA daily fantasy dalliance.
Russell Westbrook – OKC at GSW – $11,300 – It is a little surprising to see Westbrook priced so much more than Stephen Curry, but it is a great decision point, and I like it since I think most will be drawn towards the savings. The Thunder have been off since winning the series with San Antonio on Thursday so they should be well rested with a little pep in their step after vanquishing the Spur “dynasty” and their nemesis.
Stephen Curry – GSW vs OKC – $10,500 – Curry will be wildly popular which should be expected from a two-time NBA MVP at this price point. Though it also makes him a tempting contrarian fade in tournaments in the hopes of large field GPP glory.
Cory Joseph – TOR vs MIA – $3,600 – We will need to find some savings somewhere and CoJo has seen at least 23+ minutes in each of the first six games of this series backing up both DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry. He is a safe punt option and actually has a shot to flirt with 20 DraftKings points if his shot is falling for him.
Dwyane Wade – MIA at TOR – $8,400 – For me, Wade is a must play, and I am fine knowing that I will be following the crowd with this one in all formats. The main reason for this strategy where I am tempted to go away from Curry is that I think it will be very difficult to get this high-level fantasy production from anyone else at the shooting guard position. Additionally, while I think he will be very popular, there is still a chance that gamers look to Klay Thompson – $7,800 or DeMar DeRozan – $7,300 for the discount. Both are fine plays, but with just a four team player pool we will have to make a stand somewhere. This is where I am making mine.
Josh Richardson – MIA at TOR – $3,400 – Because I will likely be spending with Wade and Westbrook, I will have to have an extra discount play in my lineup. My lock is going to be Josh Richardson who is averaging 26 minutes per game this series and is coming off twin back-to-back 22.8 DraftKings point outings.
Andre Roberson – OKC at GSW – $2,800 – Through the first five games of the Spurs series, Roberson was 2 for 11 from the field. In Game Six he made 5 of 8 shots including three from downtown. Do not chase the points, even at this low price tag.
Kevin Durant – OKC at GSW – $9,900 – Easily the best option at the small forward position. In the three games he has played this season against the Dubs, Durant averaged 39.4mpg, 36.3ppg, 12.0rpg, 6.3apg, 3.0 combined blocks/steals and 3.3 made three-pointers which are worth a half point bonus on DraftKings, which tallies to a very impressive 66.8 DraftKings points.
Joe Johnson – MIA at TOR – $5,800 – Johnson has eclipsed 40 minutes in three games this series and since this is a loser goes home match that will decide the series, Coach Erik Spoelstra is going to have to do run Johnson for heavy minutes yet again.
Justise Winslow – MIA at TOR – $3,800 – Winslow’s many low point fantasy performances this series are suppressing his price tag. That is to our benefit as we have seen him averaged 30 minutes per game and just shy of 17 DraftKings points as he has been asked to help fill the void left by the injured Hassan Whiteside.
Draymond Green – GSW vs OKC – $10,400 – Green tweaked his ankle last Wednesday when the Warriors finished off the Trail Blazers. With four full days off, he should be good to go and that little red Q tag next to his name on Sunday may keep his popularity in check.
Josh McRoberts – MIA at TOR – $3,100 – McBob needs shots to be effective and he has been getting them with Hassan Whiteside out of commission. This is an extreme punt option, but he has the ability to get 5x value at this low price point with available upside.
Patrick Patterson – TOR vs MIA – $4,300 – Patterson has help pick up the slack for the injured Jonas Valanciunas and the ineffective Luis Scola. He has been a solid source of discounted production over the last four games of this series averaging 37.5mpg, 8.0ppg, 5.3rpg, 0.5apg and 0.8 combined blocks/steals for 16.8 fantasy points. It does not seem like much, but the heavy minutes are key and anything can happen when he is on the court for this amount of time. He should be able to eclipse 20 DraftKings points and has a path to the thirty fantasy point plateau if everything goes his way.
Bismack Biyombo – TOR vs MIA – $6,000 – Look at his price and look at his game logs. Yes, he is the only option to man the pivot for the Raptors with Jonas Valanciunas on the shelf, but we have other options that will be at a fraction of Bismack’s popularity.
Steven Adams – $5,900 and Enes Kanter – $4,700 – OKC at GSW – Refreshing idea, play both of the BIGS together with Serge Ibaka underperforming. Adams is the player I am locking in at the pivot spot and I am even fine with pairing Kanter in the utility slot. Golden State has hemorrhaged points in the paint all season and both these guys are better offensively at this point than what Portland was rolling out.
Marreese Speights – GSW vs OKC – $2,000 – Speights can help you get ALL THE STUDS in your lineup, but just know it is a high risk/high reward play as he has seen less than ten minutes per game over the last couple.
Festus Ezeli – GSW vs OKC – $2,000 – If Andrew Bogut is out or limited, we can also consider Ezeli as an option along with Speights since he will likely draw the start with Speights rolling out his massive usage rate on the second unit.
