Point Guards

Chris Paul – LAC at CHI – $8,900 – This will be the first back-to-back set for Chris Paul who has averaged nearly 35 minutes per game since returning to action late last week after missing just over a month with a thumb (ligament) injury. Currently there are four teams battling it out for the #4 seed in the Western Conference and the crucial first round home court advantage that comes with it. The Clippers will head back home tonight after their two game Midwest swing and do not play again until Monday. This is a good matchup for CP3 since the Bulls’ backcourt is in disarray, so a 20/10 game is definitely possible tonight.

Other Options – James Harden ($11,100), Giannis Antetokounmpo ($9,800)

Patrick Beverley – HOU vs MEM – $5,300 – Despite dealing with a groin injury that just won’t seem to fully heal, Pat-Bev has been outstanding with a pair of 40 DraftKings point performances in his last three games. He is still in possession of a reasonable price tag and outside of Chris Paul, the way lineup construction is working, I would rather utilize the multi-position eligible point guards in other roster slots. In his three matchups this season against the Grizzlies, Beverley is averaging 24.1 DraftKings points and while that is about 12% below his season average, it is still not terrible production at his current price point when we consider there is upside available if his shot is falling or if he ends up with an extra steal or two.

Jameer Nelson – DEN vs CHA – $5,400 – Nelson was out on Wednesday with food poisoning; however, that means his last game was on Tuesday, so as long as he is recovered, this was a reprieve for the 15 year veteran’s legs to get a break as well. Now that the Nuggets are mostly healthy, there are certainly more options for him to pass the ball to and the Hornets will have their hands full trying to cover Nikola Jokic and the plethora of wing players Denver will be sending at them in waves.

Other Options – Matthew Dellavedova ($3,900), Jamal Murray ($4,800)

Shooting Guards

James Harden – HOU vs MEM – $11,100 – This is the second lowest price point for The Beard since the beginning of the season. Yes, he has been nearly eight DraftKings points below his season average in the three previous tilts against Memphis this year; however, he is still managing 24.0ppg, 5.3rpg, 12.0apg and 2.4 combined blocks/steals which is still a fine production line for his current price, and in the last matchup at the end of January he did tally 62 DKPTs in Memphis.

DeMar DeRozan – TOR at MIL – $8,700 – This is a back-to-back game for both teams, so everyone is on equal footing here. With Kyle Lowry out of commission, Double D has seen a major boost in his production and opportunity, averaging 33.8ppg, 7.2rpg and 3.2apg for 48.5 DraftKings points per game which is nearly 17% higher than his season average.

Other Options – Dion Waiters ($6,400)

Malcolm Brogdon – MIL vs TOR – $5,400 – If we get word that Khris Middleton is going to have his minutes limited or if he is out in this back-to-back game set, Brogdon should see a boost in his production.

Other Options – Gary Harris ($5,500), Cory Joseph ($5,100)

Small Forwards

Giannis Antetokounmpo – MIL vs TOR – $9,800 – It is still hard to believe this fourth year player is only twenty-two years old. While there is not a lot of room for error in tonight’s price, a 50+ DraftKings point outing is in certainly possible against the Raptors.

Other Options – LeBron James ($10,900)

Dion Waiters – MIA vs CLE – $6,400 – This will be the first time Waiters squares off against the team that drafted him. Since he has scuffled his last few games, he may go overlooked, but it is hard not to envision him firing away from the field all night in this matchup. With his newfound success this season, he has nice tournament upside and slots in nicely as a small forward or shooting guard with his multi-position eligibility.

Danilo Gallinari – DEN vs CHA – $6,100 – Of all the Denver wing players, Gallinari is the one I prefer the most because he is more consistent than Wilson Chandler – $6,200 and has more upside than Will Barton – $5,100 on a regular basis. If you are looking for a contrarian move, either of his running mates are fine pivot plays who will likely be on half as many rosters as The Rooster.

Other Options – Maurice Harkless ($5,100), Nemanja Bjelica ($3,600), Allen Crabbe ($3,600)

Power Forwards

Karl-Anthony Towns – MIN at SAS – $9,400 – In four career meetings against Pau Gasol (two last year versus Chicago and two this year while Gasol was with the Spurs) KAT is averaging 20 points and 15 rebounds along with 2.5 blocked shots. I wouldn’t let the matchup against the Spurs “tough” defense dissuade you from considering Towns. Tim Duncan and David Robinson are not going to be on the court.

Blake Griffin – LAC at CHI – $9,000 – The Bulls do not have anyone equipped to guard Griffin because he will outmaneuver Robin Lopez or outmuscle Jimmy Butler. Enjoy!

Other Options – Serge Ibaka ($6,600)

Zach Randolph – MEM at HOU – $5,900 – Z-Bo just keeps getting it done on his terms. This is a back-to-back game for Memphis, so there is definite downside at this price point; however, for tournaments it would also not be out of the question for Randolph to flirt with the 40 fantasy point plateau against the undersized Houston frontcourt.

Other Options – Trevor Booker ($4,900), Marvin Williams ($5,400)

Nikola Jokic – DEN vs CHA – $9,500 – The Joker against a limited frontcourt and at a sub-five figure price point… Hard to ignore.

Jusuf Nurkic – POR vs BKN – $6,700 – He may go overlooked because of this lofty price point. As long as Nurkic can stay out of foul trouble, I think he is a phenomenal tournament option against Brook Lopez, and there is a good chance BroLo will get the night off with the Nets on a back-to-back and on the fifth game of their West Coast road trip.

Other Options – Karl-Anthony Towns ($10,500), Hassan Whiteside ($8,000)

Clint Capela – HOU vs MEM – $4,800 – While it will not be an easy matchup against the Memphis bigs, the Rockets will be leaning on Capela to battle in the paint, and he should see all the minutes he can handle.

Other Options – Pau Gasol ($5,400), Robin Lopez ($4,200)
