Happy Sunday! With the NFL Conference Championship games taking place on Sunday, the NBA is deferring and only running a handful of games spread throughout the day. This article will cover the two game “main slate” which tips off at 6:00pm ET.

Kyle Lowry – TOR vs PHX – $8,500 – Lowry is the top option on the board today with Eric Bledsoe – PHX at TOR – $8,500 playing a back-to-back after the Suns were in Madison Square Garden last night. For most of the season the Suns have been in the bottom five team against opposing point guards from a fantasy perspective and they are worse on the road.
Other Options – Eric Bledsoe ($8,400)
Kris Dunn – MIN vs DEN – $3,800 – It has been announced that Ricky Rubio is away from the team attending to a personal matter so he will not be playing on Sunday. That puts Dunn and Tyus Jones – $3,500 squarely in play as our early value options on this two game slate.
Cory Joseph – TOR vs PHX – $3,500 – CoJo makes for a fine differentiation play since he has a secure 22-26 minutes per game backing up both guard spots for the Raptors. If this game is under control early, he should be in line for more minutes and more importantly a boost in shot attempts.
Other Options – Jameer Nelson ($3,600), Jamal Murray ($3,100)
DeMar DeRozan – TOR vs PHX – $8,300 – Taking shooting guards against Phoenix this year has been a lucrative proposition, particularly with someone as prolific at scoring as DeMar DeRozan. There is a good chance that the Raptors have this game in hand, which could potentially cut DeRozan’s fourth quarter run, so there is some downside if DeRozan does not get his full minutes allotment.
Other Options – Devin Booker ($6,900)
Zach LaVine – MIN vs DEN – $6,400 – Zach Attack should have the ball in his hands more often with Ricky Rubio out of the picture and considering his $1,900 discount when compared to DeMar DeRozan, he is going to be one of my most utilized players from this game set. He leads the league in minutes played at 37.3 per game.
Other Options – Terrence Ross ($3,900)
Will Barton – DEN at MIN – $6,500 – Barton should continue to see a healthy helping of minutes and scoring opportunities with teammate Gary Harris on the shelf with injury once again. Anything less than 25 DKPTs will be incredibly disappointing and Barton does have upside and the ability to reach the forty fantasy point plateau. He is eligible for both the small forward and shooting guard positions which will make him one of the most popular options on Sunday in the large field tournaments. (Check on Barton’s status closer to game start)
Andrew Wiggins – MIN vs DEN – $6,700 – In the prior two meetings against the Nuggets this year, Wiggins surpassed his 21.7 season scoring average with 25.0 points in those contests. He is a relatively safe option having surpassed 30 DraftKings points in four of his last five outings.
Other Options – Wilson Chandler ($5,900)
Danilo Gallinari – DEN at MIN – $5,700 – Keep an eye on the news as Gallinari has been dealing with a sore ankle and the Nuggets played last night at home against the Los Angeles Clippers. If he is a full go, he is a fine option as his price has come back down nearly 10% from last week’s high water mark.
Other Options – Shabazz Muhammed ($3,000), T.J. Warren ($4,900), P.J. Tucker ($3,900)
Karl Anthony-Towns – MIN vs DEN – $10,100 – This is a delicious matchup for KAT and he has been phenomenal in his second season, particularly over the last 10 days when he has posted 59+ DKPTs in four of his last six contests. In the two previous meetings with Denver, they have not had an answer for the second year Kentucky star who is averaging 36.1mpg, 23.5ppg, 12.5rpg, 6.0apg and 2.5 combined blocks steals for 55.6 DraftKings points.
Other Options – Wilson Chandler ($5,900)
Gorgui Dieng – MIN vs DEN – $5,300 – The Timberwolves will need to lean on Dieng to help out Karl Anthony-Towns against the opposing Denver BIGs in the paint and he should be in the mix for a double double which is worth a 1.5 point bonus on the DraftKings scoring system.
Other Options – Kenneth Faried ($5,600), P.J. Tucker ($3,900)
Nikola Jokic – DEN vs LAC – $9,100 – As mentioned, this is a back-to-back game for Denver and their fifth game in seven days, so there is a chance The Joker does not see his full complement of minutes. One strategy would be to go for “the fade” and hope he underperforms his lofty price tag and hinders the lineups of his supporters.
Other Options – Jonas Valančiūnas ($5,800)
Tyson Chandler – PHX at TOR – $5,500 – Over his last seven games, Chandler has had at least fifteen rebounds. This is an impressive streak and has pushed him to 35 DKPTs during this stretch which is a bargain at his current price tag.
Other Options – Gorgui Dieng ($5,300), Alex Len ($3,400)
I am a promoter at DraftKings and am also an avid fan and user (my username is emac) and may sometimes play on my personal account in the games that I offer advice on.
