Greetings Gamers! As we gear up for the big game tonight, DraftKings has us covered with over $1 Million in guaranteed prize pools. Let’s look at our options and see if we can come up with the perfect roster to grab the top spot!
Chris Paul – LAC at MIA – $9,400 – The top choice is pretty clear cut at the point guard position today with CP3 being head and shoulders above the crowd. With only four games on the slate, this is one spot where we can plant our flag in tournaments by either going all in or completely avoiding Paul. In his last three games against the Heat he has posted 52.5, 40.8 and 51.0 DraftKings points. In Miami’s favor, we know that they have allowed the second fewest fantasy points to opposing facilitators this season. As Wesley said to Vizzini in The Princess Bride, the battle of wits has begun.
Isaiah Thomas – BOS vs SAC – $7,500 – Let’s see, Isaiah Thomas against his former team that shipped him out in the middle of the season two years ago is going against Rajon Rondo – $8,000 who is back in his old stomping grounds too. I am siding with IT2 in this matchup as he is very consistent this season producing 30+ DraftKings points in 41 of the 51 games he has played, with his lowest game being 20 fantasy points.
Darren Collison – SAC at BOS – $4,800 – Okay, Collison is not going to continue to shoot at his current torrid pace. Over his last four games he is 27 for 45 from the field for a robust 60% success rate. However, with just a four game slate, we will need to find value options somewhere and with Rajon Rondo nicked up and dealing with turf toe, Collison could see a little extra time. Of course this is a Rajon Rondo revenge game as he heads back to Boston, so keep an eye out on the news and notes.
Victor Oladipo – ORL vs ATL – $6,900 – It is looking like we will be best served to look to punt this position tonight. Dwyane Wade – $7,200 does not have the best track record against the Clippers so I am hoping more gamers flock to him for name recognition and completely bypass Oladipo. While he has been struggling with consistency, in tournaments we have to take notice of the boom/bust potential of Oladipo who has tallied 40+ fantasy points in four of his last nine games.
Marco Belinelli – SAC at BOS – $4,600 – With Rudy Gay doubtful, Belinelli should see his fourth straight start. He has averaged just shy of 36 minutes per game in those contests and has posted 28+ DraftKings points in two of the three. He is a terrific option in all formats today.
Avery Bradley – BOS vs SAC – $5,500 – With the Sacramento Kings having allowed the most fantasy points to opposing shooting guards over the last three seasons, we have to give Avery Bradley strong consideration on this abbreviated slate.
Danilo Gallinari – DEN at NYK – $6,900 – Gallinari has struggled against his former team averaging just 12.8ppg, 3.8rpg, 1.3apg and 1.0spg for a not so inspiring 22 DraftKings points over the last four meetings. He does have 40+ fantasy point upside and with Carmelo Anthony – $8,500 questionable after sitting on Friday with his sore knee, he is the best option on the board by default.
Omri Casspi – SAC at BOS – $5,200 – Casspi has struggled since missing four games at the beginning of January besting his season fantasy point average of 24.9 in just four of his last thirteen contests. However, he is getting the minutes and with Rudy Gay unlikely to play today, he should also see double digit shot attempts and I am comfortable utilizing him at today’s favorable price point.
Luol Deng – MIA vs LAC – $4,600 – The Clippers have struggled with wing players once again this season, making “The Forgotten Man” Luol Deng a fine discount option as he has 30 fantasy point upside and won’t crush our dreams having topped 18 DraftKings points in eleven of his last thirteen games.
DeMarcus Cousins – SAC at BOS – $11,200 – The only thing stopping Cousins today is Cousins. He has 58+ DraftKings points in seven of his last nine games. Fade at your own risk.
Chris Bosh – MIA vs LAC – $7,100 – Bosh has been incredibly steady with 30+ fantasy points in twenty of his last twenty five outings. Enjoy!
Amar’e Stoudemire – MIA vs LAC – $4,200 – Well, this is the first time I have written up Stoudemire as a recommended play this season. We do not have many intriguing discount options at the power forward position on Sunday and with Miami consciously managing his minutes, Amar’e has been solid with 17+ fantasy points in each of his last seven games with a very respectable 24.9 average.
Hassan Whiteside – MIA vs LAC – $7,400 – Whiteside managed his fourth career triple double coming off the bench on Friday in Charlotte. He is likely the make-or-break fantasy play on this four game schedule. Make sure to have him on a couple tournament rosters.
Nikola Jokic – DEN at NYK – $6,500 – With 37+ DraftKings points in six of his last eight games, Jokic will be very popular in all formats today. The Knicks have been a middle-of-the-road team against centers this season and it is hard to believe that Robin Lopez will shut down the second year Serbian big man.
Kelly Olynyk – BOS vs SAC – $4,400 – Tournaments only, but Olynyk has posted 40+ DraftKings points on a handful of occasions this season. If he can manage that today, his backers will be seeing their names in lights in the large field contests.
