There is a big thirteen game NBA schedule on Saturday with two early games beginning at 4:00pm and 5:00pm ET, respectively and then a healthy eleven game grouping as the main course.  Dessert will be provided by two “turbo” game sets, each comprised of a trio of NBA matchups.  DraftKings certainly has us covered for our post-holiday reverie!

Point Guards

John Wall – WAS at BKN – $9,600EARLY for the all day game set, John Wall is a fantastic option at point guard.  In the month of December he has four games with 60+ DraftKings points and another four in the 50s.  As an added bonus, Brooklyn is allowing the fifth most fantasy points to opposing point guards.  Wall has been dealing with a myriad of injuries, so the extra day between games should help him out quite a bit.

Isaiah Thomas – BOS at DET – $7,700 – In his last twenty-two games, IT2 has been phenomenal with twenty games of at least 32 fantasy points and in half of those he has exceeded the forty fantasy point plateau.  Amazingly he is still being underutilized by gamers who consider him a tournament-only option.  The Pistons have been struggling against point guards this season and over their last eleven games, they are allowing the fifth most fantasy points in the league.

Zach LaVine – MIN vs IND – $5,100 – The Indiana Pacers have been in the middle-of-the-pack against opposing backcourts which is in favor of LaVine as he plays both guard positions for Minnesota.  Most gamers are hesitant to take bench players, but Zach has a crucial role in the Timberwolves offensive attack and he is secure with his minutes and workload.  He is averaging 25.5 DraftKings points per game this season and with a little luck, he can easily surpass 30 fantasy points in this matchup.

Shooting Guards

DeMar DeRozan – TOR at MIL – $8,000EARLY Double D has been really upping his peripheral stats to go along with his already potent scoring ability.  Since Thanksgiving, he has averaged just under 40 DraftKings points per game on 25.3ppg, 4,5rpg, 3.9apg and 0.9spg.  For the most part, the Raptors have only been playing three guards so DeRozan has average 37.3 minutes per game over that same stretch.

C.J. McCollum – POR vs CLE – $7,200 – Regardless of Damian Lillard’s status, this is an excellent matchup for McCollum against the Cleveland Cavaliers who had to travel up the West Coast after battling the Golden State Warriors by the San Francisco Bay.  In the same matchup in Cleveland earlier this month, C.J. was just a nibble shy of a forty burger with 24 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals and four 3-pointers.  Similar production would not be a surprise at all on Saturday.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope – DET vs BOS – $5,300 – Caldwell-Pope makes for an outstanding tournament option because most gamers are not going to want to “pay” for his expensive price tag since they are used to being able to roster him at a discount.  The Boston Celtics have struggled against shooting guards this season with Avery Bradley usually guarding opposing point guards and Isaiah Thomas left to deal with two-guards.  The key for KCP is that he needs to play a lot of minutes to accrue his stats and he has averaged just over 38mpg in his last ten contests.  He is also shooting a lot more and during that same stretch of games, he averaged 14 field goal attempts.  This is a nice contrarian option in all formats Saturday.

Small Forwards

Gordon Hayward – UTA vs LAC – $7,000 – This is a nice spot to look for a couple of Jazz players with the Clippers on the road after playing the Christmas Night Game yesterday.  Hayward has quietly turned his season around and has posted 30+ DraftKings points in 14 of his last 17 games.  With center Rudy Gobert on the shelf, Utah has picked up the pace of their games to a level that better suits Hayward.  He is a great option in H2H contests with his high baseline production.

Jae Crowder – BOS at DET – $5,900 – Crowder has really been on a tear averaging 38.3 DraftKings points over his last three games on the strength of 20.3ppg and 10.7rpg. The best part is most gamers continue to pass right by when they are scrolling through the player pool.  He is one of the many versatile players in the Celtics arsenal and he is capable at both forward positions when on the court.

Joe Johnson – BKN vs WAS – $4,700EARLY What we are looking at here is some “Old Man” value.  At the end of games when you look at Joe Johnson’s stat line, it is amazing how he continues to quietly produce quality numbers, for his price level.  On the season, the Washington Wizards have allowed the most fantasy points to opposing small forwards and they are in the bottom three against shooting guards.  Regardless of where Johnson slots into the lineup, he should be able to provide solid production in the 25-30 DraftKings point range.

Power Forwards

Kristaps Porzingis – NYK at ATL – $7,400 – If Carmelo Anthony is out again, Porzingis is a terrific play as he will see an increase in his shot attempts.  On Wednesday, the rookie big man put up 23 points and 13 rebounds in Cleveland on his way to 52.3 DraftKings points.  At this price point anything over 40 is absolute gravy and if things are not copasetic with Melo’s ankle.

Anthony Davis – NO vs HOU – $10,200 – The Brow was fantastic in the Christmas Day opener and he has an amazing matchup on tap with the Houston Rockets who have really struggled against power forwards this season.  In their first matchup this season, Davis accumulated 55.8 DraftKings points in just 34.5 minutes.  Both teams are on a back-to-back, so things are even from that aspect.

Zach Randolph – MEM at CHA – $5,700 – Z-bo has embraced his new role off the bench and has actually been producing at the same level as when he was a starter.  With his price continuing to dip, he is becoming an attractive option and this is a matchup where he should easily reach 25-30 DraftKings points and pay off his salary.

Marc Gasol – MEM at CHA – $7,300 – Even if Al Jefferson plays on Saturday after missing all of December with injuries and a wacky tabacky suspension, he will be no match for Marc Gasol.  Now that the Grizzles have moved Zach Randolph to the second unit, they are able to play more freely and the paint is not as clogged for Gasol on offense.  He should be able to easily reach 40 to 45 DraftKings points in this matchup.

Ian Mahinmi – IND at MIN – $4,800 – This is a fine price point for Mahinmi who should see his typical 25-27 minutes and produce nearly a fantasy point per minute against the Minnesota frontcourt.

Alex Len – PHO vs PHI – $4,700 – Don’t get discouraged by the game log.  In their last outing, the Suns were forced to go small against the short-handed Denver Nuggets and the Len/Tyson Chandler combination only had 19 total minutes.  This will be different against the Philadelphia 76ers who boast a couple of big men in Nerlens Noel and Jahlil Okafor.  Len should be able to produce at a 5-6x value in this matchup..
