76ers @ Cavaliers

Game Analysis

This is a matchup of contrasting styles. Philadelphia is in the top-six in pace, Cleveland in the bottom-six. Shockingly, the 76ers have won two of their last three games, though beating Detroit and Minnesota is much different than defeating Cleveland. Speaking of Cleveland, they enter the game on a ten game winning streak, during which they have scored an average of 109.5 points per game. I expect this game to go over the 193 points that Vegas is predicting.

Line: CLE -16, Over/Under: 193

Players to Watch

  • Kyrie Irving, PG, Cavaliers – 23rd OPRK ($8,700)
  • J.R. Smith, SG, Cavaliers – 29th OPRK ($4,700)
  • Kevin Love, PF, Cavaliers  – 27th OPRK ($8,700)

Hornets @ Wizards

Game Analysis

Both Washington and Charlotte rank in the bottom third of the league in pace. Offensively, Charlotte has been all over the map recently. In their last ten games, they have scored over 100 points three times, less than 80 points twice. The Hornets have been better since Al Jefferson has returned though. Washington has struggled some recently, losing five of their last ten games, while the Hornets have won seven of their last ten games. Vegas is expecting a low scoring game in this contest with an over/under of 188.5.

Line: WAS -7.5, Over/Under: 188.5

Players to Watch

  • John Wall, PG, Wizards – 27th OPRK ($9,100)
  • Nene Hilario, PF, Wizards – 13th OPRK ($4,900)
  • Al Jefferson, C, Hornets – 9th OPRK ($7,600)

Clippers @ Nets

Game Analysis

The Clipper have been average in terms of pace this season, the Nets ranks 25th thus far this season. The Clippers have won eight of their last ten games while averaging well over 100 points per game in that span. Brooklyn has won two of their last ten games while scoring less than 96 points per game in that span. The over/under of 200.5 suggests a pretty high scoring game. There is a solid chance that Deron Williams returns for the Nets Monday which would help their offense, at least in theory. However, chances are, he will see limited playing time, thus his impact will be limited.

Line: LAC -8.5, Over/Under: 200.5

Players to Watch

  • Chris Paul, PG, Clippers – 24th OPRK ($9,300)
  • Blake Griffin, PF, Clippers  – 26th OPRK ($9,600)
  • Brook Lopez, C, Nets – 22nd OPRK ($6,200)
  • Jarrett Jack, PG, Nets – 2nd OPRK ($6,700)

Bucks @ Raptors

Game Analysis

Hey look, it is a battle of teams who like torturing fantasy owners! Both Milwaukee and Toronto seem to be fans of not giving players over 30 minutes per game, and constantly changing their rotations. Neither is close to a fast paced team which does not help their players fantasy value. Both teams enter this matchup riding winning streaks. Milwaukee has won their last three games — and three of their last four — Toronto is riding a six game winning streak. Vegas is expecting an offensive battle given the over/under of 202.5.

Line: TOR -7, Over/Under: 202.5

Players to Watch

  • Khris Middleton, SF, Bucks – 23rd OPRK ($5,300)
  • Amir Johnson, PF, Raptors  – 3rd OPRK ($4,400)
  • Jonas Valanciunas, C, Raptors  – 10th OPRK ($5,400)

Hawks @ Pelicans

Game Analysis

Yes, this is yet another game between teams with below average paces; Atlanta ranks 17th in pace this season, New Orleans 27th. Atlanta will be going for their 20th consecutive win on Monday; New Orleans is looking for win six in their last seven games. If you are looking for a nice value today, look no farther than Kyle Korver. Korver has averaged 15 points, four rebounds, 3.8 three-pointers and two assists per game over his last four games. Despite the below average paces of both squads, you should expect some nice fantasy games from players on both squads. As of publication, there was no over/under for this game.

Line: ATL -4.5, Over/Under: None

Players to Watch

  • Jeff Teague, PG, Hawks – 10th OPRK ($7,500)
  • Kyle Korver, SG, Hawks  – 18th OPRK ($5,200)
  • Paul Millsap, PF, Hawks  – 20th OPRK ($8,200)
  • Tyreke Evans, SG, Pelicans  – 16th OPRK ($7,900)

Magic @ Thunder

Game Analysis

[Update: Kevin Durant (toe) will not play against the Magic on Monday] Finally, a game between two teams that are above average in pace! No this is not the same as Golden State vs. Phoenix or anything, but given today’s games, it might as well be. Orlando will be trying to avoid their ninth strait loss in this game; Oklahoma City will be trying to avoid their third consecutive loss. The Thunder will have Kevin Durant back again, and have been considerably better when Durant has played. With an over/under of 208, you should expect a high scoring game here.

Line: OKC -13.5, Over/Under: 208

Players to Watch

  • Nikola Vucevic, C, Magic – 5th OPRK ($8,500)
  • Russell Westbrook, PG, Thunder  – 28th OPRK ($10,100)
  • Kevin Durant, SF, Thunder  – 25th OPRK ($10,100)
  • Serge Ibaka, PF, Thunder  – 23rd OPRK ($6,700)

Timberwolves @ Mavericks

Game Analysis

Wait? Another game between faster paced than average teams? Minnesota ranks 7th in pace this season, Dallas 12th. Minnesota has lost eight of their last ten games, Dallas enters the game struggling too, having lost five of their last ten games. Vegas is not expecting quite as much scoring in this game as the Magic/Thunder game, but close; the over/under for Timberwolves @ Mavericks is 206.

Line: DAL -12, Over/Under: 206

Players to Watch

  • Kevin Martin, SG, Timberwolves – 22nd OPRK ($5,100)
  • Nikola Pekovic, C, Timberwolves  – 13th OPRK ($5,300)
  • Monta Ellis, SG, Mavericks  – 30th OPRK ($7,500)
  • Dirk Nowitzki, PF, Mavericks  – 28th OPRK ($6,200)

Grizzlies @ Suns

Game Analysis

Phoenix is the second fastest paced team in the NBA, Memphis ranks 26th in pace so this is a battle of opposites. The last time these teams played they put up a combined 232 points — in overtime. The Suns have scored an average of 106.3 points per game in their last ten games; Memphis has scored 99.5 points per game in their last ten games, so have been playing well offensively lately too. Vegas is expecting a high scoring game in the desert in this one. For what it is worth, Memphis has defeated Phoenix the last six times they have played.

Line: MEM -2, Over/Under: 205.5

Players to Watch

  • Zach Randolph, PF, Grizzlies – 6th OPRK ($8,600)
  • Marc Gasol, C, Grizzlies  – 12th OPRK ($7,800)
  • Marcus Morris, PF, Suns  – 22nd OPRK ($3,300)
