The Vegas Lines

Highest Scoring Games

Suns vs. Thunder – Yes we all know that it is an NFL day, but DraftKings has some NBA action for us. This is the highest o/u game of the day with a 212.5. The Suns love to move fast and Westy will try to keep up with the opposing team’s guards. This has the makings of a stack team on a short slate.

Lowest Scoring Games

Raptors vs. Heat- Make sure you pay close attention to the slates, but this one should be included in the late afternoon. This game gives us a whopping o/u of 190.5. On a large slate I would usually stay away, but because of the limited player pool, I like some Lowry, Whiteside, and Bosh exposure.

Pace of Play

Fastest Projected Games

Suns vs. Thunder – This one will be fast and on a short slate you will need some of the players on each team. Hollinger has the Suns ranked 8th in pace and the Thunder as 11th. Both teams will want to control the pace and this will only speed the game up more. A lot of points will be scored in this game.

Slowest Projected Games

Pistons vs. Trailblazers – The Pistons are at a pace rating of 97.7 and the Trailblazers are in the bottom 15 in the league. We know that the Heat game will be low scoring, but this night game has an o/u of 197.5. However, due to the short slate you have to give this game a look (all the Aminu).

Defense vs. Position

Best PG Matchups

Russell Westbrook vs. Brandon Knight – Knight is a great defender, but Westbrook is Westbrook. In his last 3 games Westy has over 45 DK points.

Worst PG Matchups

Damian Lillard vs. Reggie Jackson – This matchup is all paper based, because I do think you have to have exposure to Lillard. Detroit has only given up 29 DK points to opposing PGs and Jackson is a great defender.

Best SG Matchups

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope vs. CJ McCollum – KCP is going to get a lot of minutes for the SVG led Pistons. The Trailblazers are giving up 41 fantasy points to SGs. KCP helps save some cap space,

Worst SG Matchups

Knicks SG vs. Jordan Clarkson/Kobe Bryant/Louis Williams- The only position the Lakers have defended remotely well is the SG position. The Knicks will run out Sasha or Langston, but neither should be counted on for a lot of production.

Best SF Matchups

LeBron James vs. Every Pacer- If LBJ gives it a go, then he will get a Pacers team that really doesn’t have a true SF. Paul George will probably get Kevin Love, which means that Miles will have the pleasure of guarding LBJ. Hmmm….Good Luck!

Worst SF Matchups

Marcus Morris vs. Al-Farouq Aminu – Aminu is an elite defender and a great addition to the Trailblazers. Morris has had a great early season, but this should be the Jackson and Drummond show tonight.

Best PF Matchups

Kristaps Porzingis vs. Julius Randle – Byron Scott recently says they may have misjudged Porzingis. Randle has had trouble guarding anybody. This matchup has some fantasy goodness tonight.

Worst PF Matchups

Chris Bosh vs. Luis Scola – Scola is a great defender and Toronto has only given up 34 points to opposing PFs. Bosh has been asked to do a lot for Miami, but will get all he can handle tonight.

Best C Matchups

Andre Dummond vs. Mason Plumlee – Drummond is a rebound machine and without Monroe this year he has been a scorer as well. The Trailblazers struggle against the C position and Drummond should run with that tonight.

Worst C Matchups

Roy Hibbert vs. Robin Lopez- Lopez and crew haven’t given up over 40 FPs to Cs this year. Hibbert is borderline slowed by age. I will be staying away from this one.

Lineup Quick Hits

Superstar Worth Paying For

Russell Westbrook (10,800) – Westy has gone 45 plus DK points in the last 3 games. He gets a fast paced game that should be high scoring. He can fill up the stat sheet in every category and will be highly owned.

Save Big Bucks By Drafting

Meyers Leonard (3,900) – Leonard gets a good matchup against the Pistons tonight. Plumlee should get all he can handle with Drummond, so Leonard should get a lot of post work. He can pop out as a stretch 4 as well, so he may produce some 3s tonight.

Dud of the Night

Chris Bosh (7,000) – Bosh will get a tough matchup tonight against Toronto. The game should be low scoring and Bosh may be overshadowed in the post by Whiteside. Bosh has exceeded value in the last 3 games, but it just doesn’t seem like the stars will align tonight.
