A full slate of contests tonight means there’s plenty to breakdown and analyze. Let’s take a look at some of the tips and notes you need to leverage to cash big on Wednesday Night.
The Vegas Lines
Highest Scoring Games
Clippers vs. Warriors – The mystery that is the Brow, won’t be able to affect the scoring output of this game. With an o/u of 218 there is no love loss between these two teams. Expect Chef Curry to continue cooking and Blake Griffin to put on a show.
Raptors vs. Thunder – With an o/u of 210.5 this game should be full of fireworks. Of course Westbrook and Durant will be involved, but the Raptors could bring a lot of sneaky value into play. After Derozan had an off night last night, this may be the time to get on the train.
Lowest Scoring Games
Trailblazers vs. Jazz – Once again the Jazz make the low scoring list. With an o/u of 189 this game may not even be moving. I like the Jazz big men and I really wish Hayward would do anything, but this one just seems like a game to stay away from.
76ers vs. Bucks – At 195.5 this game will also be on the lower end of the scoring spectrum. With that said, there is value galore here. Make sure that you check the injury report and find out if MCW is playing. Bob Cov is out which means fire the Sauce.
Pace of Play
Fastest Projected Games
Clippers vs. Warriors – The Warriors (104.7 rating) are once again ranked among the fastest paced teams in the NBA. It is their style to run and gun up and down the court. Look for this game to get ugly as their is no love lost between either team. I like a little Curry/CP3 stack on the night.
Kings vs. Suns – The duel guards in Phoenix like to keep the ball moving for Coach Hornacek. The Kings have also surprisingly decided to up the pace as they are ranked 2nd in the Hollinger rating. With DMC out Rudy Gay and crew should carry the load against the two headed monster of Bledsoe/Knight.
Slowest Projected Games
Trailblazers vs. Jazz – Once again, guess who ranks dead last in the Pace ratinge…the Utah Jazz. With a rating of 93.9 nobody even comes close to being as slow as the Jazz. I do like some of the value in this matchup, but expect a lot of set plays in this low scoring game.
Knicks vs. Cavaliers – You would think by having the best athlete in the world (Lebron James) that the Cavs would like to push the pace. Unfortunately, they don’t and come in ranked 23rd in pace of play. The Knicks are slightly better at 14th, but neither team will push the envelope tonight. look for this to be a slow moving affair.
Defense vs. Position
Best PG Matchups
Ty Lawson vs. Elfrid Payton – We know that the Rockets are Harden’s team, but Lawson may make for a sneaky play on a night where he gets a Magic team giving up 22 points to opposing PGs. Remember dishes to Harden count as fantasy points as well.
Worst PG Matchups
Rajon Rondo vs. Brandon Knight – Rondo had an off night last night against the Grizz. He gets a matchup versus Brandon Knight tonight who has been great against opposing PGs.
Best SG Matchups
James Harden vs. Victor Oladipo – I like both of these guys tonight, but think that Harden gets the better of the matchup. Harden came to life last game and is in one of the best matchups of the night.
Worst SG Matchups
Avery Bradley vs. Monta Ellis – Bradley is coming off of being sidelined. Ellis is finally starting to guard SG’s. I think there are better values at SG tonight.
Best SF Matchups
Paul George vs. Jae Crowder – Coming off one of the most horrific sports injuries ever, PG has looked great. The Celtics are giving up 48 DraftKings points to SF’s and George is the Pacers go to guy. He is a great contrarian play on the night.
Worst SF Matchups
Otto Porter vs. Kawhi Leonard – Best defensive player in the league, versus a young SF finding his way. This matchup doesn’t look good for Otto at all.
Best PF Matchups
Tobias Harris vs. Houston’s Small Line – With Terrence Jones out, Houston will decide to go small again. Orlando will definitely roll Harris and he matches up against a team giving up 26 points to opposing PF’s. He should also be low owned tonight.
Worst PF Matchups
Meyers Leonard vs. Derrick Favors- This is totally contingent on if Favors plays, but Utah has been great against PF’s only giving up 14 and 7. Leonard has had a slow start and shouldn’t be an attractive play on the night.
Best C Matchups
Tyson Chandler vs. Kosta Koufos – Koufos is a decent defender, but Tyson has been playing like a man possessed this year. Look for him to dominate the Kings coming off of a back to back.
Worst C Matchups
Marcin Gortat vs. Tim Duncan – The Polish Hammer has been off of his game lately, tonight he faces a Hall of Famer that still plays great defense. I will be avoiding this matchup.
Lineup Quick Hits
Superstar Worth Paying For
Stephen Curry (10,100) – Chef Curry is the undisputable fantasy king at this point in the season. After the Brow let us down last night, Curry will pick us all back up and hopefully put on a show. The Warriors and the Clippers can’t stand each other and Curry will want to show the world who is the best in California.
Save Big Bucks By Drafting
Jerryd Bayless (3,800) – With MCW doubtful tonight, Bayless is the obvious spot play. Bayless is coming off of a monster game and has a very favorable matchup against the 76ers tonight. Based on price alone he has a great shot at hitting value tonight.
Dud of the Night
Derrick Favors (7,300) – Usually I love where Favors sets up. He is very fairly priced and can produce in multiple categories. Unfortunately, he missed shootaround today due to flu like symptoms. This means their is a strong possibility that he doesn’t play tonight. If he can’t give it a go, Trevor Booker may be an excellent DFS spot start.
